oil pressure????

which oil pressure guage should i get, the mechanical or the electric???? thanks for any response

mechanical and ull have a running, warm oil line in the cabin....but deadly accurate

electric and ull have a wiring running from a sender inside ur engine bay....accurate, but not as quick responsing as the mechanical, but still accurate....get this 1 to reduce hazards and avoid possible oil leaks in cabin.

Stay away from any mechanical gauges that involve oil or fuel!!! If the line brakes (it does happen sometimes) you end up with a HUGE mess INSIDE your car!

I have been using Cyberdyne pressure gauges with pretty good results.

how high does the psi on an oil pressure gauge need to go? most of the ones i've seen go from 0-100psi.... just making sure it will be sufficient before i buy one

Greddy 60mm Electronic w/ peak/hold/warn is my choice. Excellent gauge.

The oil pressure will be different depending on where you tap it.

Stock location peaks at my 100 psi gauge for first 5 sec, after a cold start. Once the car is hot, it is around 70-80psi on the highway and around 20psi at idle.

So a typical 100psi gauge will do just fine.

i have a mechanical gauge... i like it.. plus i like the full sweep... only prob is i did break the oil line once... not the cabin side... the part that goes to the oil pressure sender under engine. kinda sucked but it was only a $0.10 fix.

okay, when i first start the car(when its 20 degrees out) it goes to 50, but then after it warms up it goes to 0 when i'm not on the gas. when i'm on the gas it goes to 20 psi. wuts going on with it(like is it normal)?????? thanks for all the help

Mike where is it tapped? I get similar readings in my head, right next to the 1G turbo oil supply location.

This is way too low for the stock location...

if you take it from the head , it will usually only go to 50 psi or less due to a reilef spring in the head, instead take the oil psi from the oil housing and you will get much higher readings. i averaged 40 at idle and 110or so @ 2500rpm +
