I have been looking for a few days now and I have yet to be able to find out if anyone has done this or if it is possible, I'm trying to get a 75mm/mustang tb and mate it up to an opened up stock intake manifold. The reason for me not wanting to upgrade my manifold is because I dont plan on revving past 7500 or 8000 because of stock valvetrain and my car would see hardly any track use, so I wanted to maintain my low end and mid range torque but wanted my car to be able to breathe up top. Anyone have any input??

the most you can port on your 2g intake manifold would be 63-65mm, bigger than that you'll have to port whole manifold inside.... not smart thing to do... as other guy before me said 60mm would be more than enough

I dont have one to measure, but 53mm is 2.0488in and 75mm is 2.954in. So, the 75mm is almost a whole inch larger in diameter. Would there even be enough room to port it out a whole inch to accomidate something that big? Are the mounting studs in the same locations? Isnt that something that is specified when ordering a SMIM? I am not sure this is possible.

I ported my stock intake manifold at the TB flange to match a 1g 60mm TB and it started to get real close to the sidewalls of the manifold.

I agree with mirkoelek above, that at the most you could port it to 63mm ~ 65mm. Beyond that you would start to thin out the sidewalls at the flange and weaken the manifold.

thanks for the info, i have had my question answered
