This is the stock turbo that came on automatic turbo dsm's. I don't think this would be any sort of an "upgrade" for hom.

Your best bet would be to upgrade to a 16G, probly a Evo III 16G, it can make up to 400hp, and spools quickly, and is a direct bolt on replacement, although you should upgrade fuel mods too.

I was aware of this, but scince he was asking this question i figured a downgrade would be best to keep him from blowing up his shiznat.

You will also need another manifold if you put a 16g on.
If you have a td04 your mani wont accomadate tdo5s/tdo6s

Well, he wasn't asking for a "downgrade", he was asking for a upgrade.

I would also not recommend an EVO 16G without an upgraded o2 housing since the turbine exit is larger than the hole in the o2 housing on a stock or 2G o2 housing. Taht will cause a lot of turbulence in the exhaust and hurt power.

If your car is a manual tranny, then stock it has a 14b, and if so, then a 16G is a direct replacement. If you have an auto, then the stock is the 13G turbo and a different manifold is a must.

Don't upgrade your turbo yet. You have a turbo back exhaust, And that is all. I suggest you now get a fuel pump, And a boost gauge and a manual boost controller. Turn the boost up alittle bit and you'll feel an increase of power from what you have now. Just start with the basic bolt on's first, Don't go right to upgrading your turbo. This is the reason why there are guy's in the 1/4 mile times list with $1,000+ turbo's running slower then guys' with a 14b.

SUPPORTING MODS FIRST, Unless that is.. You want to get humiliated when that guy on a stock turbo and the right supporting mods kills your car with an expensive , Bigger turbo. :tease: That's always fun to see.

Good luck.
