Ok I have been looking around and shopping for downpipes. My goal is to get a downpipe and then have my exhause shop do the cat back pipe and muffler.

I have heard the GSX aftermarket downpipe is the same as the FWD with the exception that the flange is off and needs rotated. I want to know which flange needs rotating? the one of the O2 housing? or the one before the cat? also, I know that the flange will not bolt up to a stock cat, and with my exahust shop making the cat back, should I planned on a hi flow cat. then I need to find a place that sells flanges that would bolt to the high flow that the exaust shop could work off of. so basically I need to know what needs modification on a GSX aftermarket downpipe to fit a FWD, and also, where can I purchase flanges?

-FWD/AWD downpipes are not the same, but wery similar. The FWD has an "S" after the flex section where as the AWD goes straight.

-All 1g/2g share the same angle @ the O2 sensor housing. When using an EVO3 O2 the flange changes anlge. Check out RRE exhaust page for more info/pics.

-Your exhaust shop should have everything needed to install everything

-Also just go w/ a good quality DP for a FWD and call it a day :thumb:

Thanks for the reply. What downpipe would you reccomend? I have seen some offered in our mod guide on the site.

Get a Punishment Racing downpipe. That's what I ended up buying and it fit perfectly with my test pipe and lined up even better with the 2g o2 housing. If you want, go with Buschur downpipe or have one made. Do not try to make something that isn't suppose to be.

Hey Project tsi where did you get tehat downpipe? what kind is it? i originally thought that the AWD downpipe just needed a flange hacked off and turned a little, But now I see that the AWD is straight after the flexpipe and the FWD has the s curve after it.
