Where should I start?!?!

I just wanted to get some opinions from some people that have already built up their motors instead of finding out the hard way and wasting money. So heres the deal... Im purchasing a 90 tsi in 2 days. I just want some opinions on where and what to start with for both engine longevity, and of course more horses. Any info will be helpfull.Thanx to any who put in their 2 cents!

do a compression check and leak down to see the condition of the motor. otherwise the 6-bolt that is in there should handle anything you throw at it.

Well, there's a very useful Tuning guide on this site, right at the top. It's a very good formula.

But, if you're asking me personally, this is what I would do in this order to start off:

Free Mods
Boost Gauge
Manual Boost Controller
Datalogger
Exhaust
Good Fuel Pump / Fuel Pressure Regulator
Clutch
Fuel Control / Injectors / Tuning Practice
