I have a 91 talon awd and I was changing the oil pump. I had ordered one from slowboy and it was the wrong one (it came with a pro-topline kit) . what year were the oil pumps different? I mean the front cover with the worm holes in it. I have several other engines and all have the same oil pump.

Maybe they were different on 6/7 bolts. If your car is an April 1992 or later issue car, good chance it's a 7 bolt. That's the only thing I can think of.

I didn't see anything in my manual but it could be somewhere else in those pages. The engines I got at the shop are all 6-bolts. I think I will just get a new gasket and throw one of the other ones back on till I can sort this out. I can't be the first to find this out.
