is running 17-18 Psi on 93 ok? Performance is still strong. And how to tell if timing is off without logger?

Got a timing light?

A timing light will help adjust the base timing, but will not tell him if timing is being pulled at WOT.

Mr.Tao, Looking at your profile....

1. I don't see any form of fuel upgrade (FP Rewire or Upgraded fuel pump)
Most people here will say to keep it at 15 psi or below until you have enough fuel to support higher boost.

2. I don't see an upgraded intercooler (Big sidemount, Supra Sidemount or Frontmount)
The stock Sidemount heatsoaks (becomes inefficient) at boost levels above 17psi. So an upgraded intercooler may be next on your list.

From what I understand, you can't really tell timing is being pulled without a logger. You will still be accelerating, but not as fast as you could be. You may be able to tell by seeing if your spark plugs are fowled.

**My suggestion.... keep the boost low until you have a logger. I was running 15-16psi until I got a logger and found out my timing was being pulled due to problems with the stock vehicle (boost leaks, etc.)

**Now... as far as 93 octane vs lower octane (only 91 availible here) you may be able to run a few psi higher... but only a datalogger will tell you for sure.

you can't tell without a logger unless timing is being pulled so bad that the car just looses a ton of power. I wouldn't run more than 14-15 psi with the mods you have listed in your profile.

sounds good. My plugs are fouled. Soaked in Oil. but due to leaky valve seals.

my 14b with no fuel management on stock everything would get a lot of knock and lean out pretty badly at 16psi up, i wouldnt go any higher then 15-16 without a logger to at least see what its doin
