I am installing my evo III 16g this weekend and I am using a ss oil feed line from slowboy racing. It appears to me that it is not long enough to reach the supply location at the oil filter. It is only short by a few inches or maybe if the fitting at the oil filter were taller i could fit the line on it.

If anyone has ever used one of these and can tell me what I am doing wrong or if theirs was long enough it would be a great help.

I am routing the line on the front side of the turbo closest to the radiator if that helps.

Thanks,
Ben

I am going from the original feed on the oil filter assemply to the center cartrige of the turbo. I just took some pics and you can see from the first pic that I can get the length in this pic but the nipple is behind the oil filter housing so i cant screw the fitting in place.

If I turn the fitting so that I can put the ss line on the line is to short

The other photo is just of the fitting on the oil filter assembly

Try screwing the fitting on more so you can get the line on. Put some teflon tape on the threads and you should be able to get it lined up.

Actualy in order for this to work I think that the fitting would have to backed out about 1/2 inch to clear the oil filter housing. Any ideas on that?

Thanks,
Ben

Perhaps a hardware store would have some pieces to extend the oil housing fitting. Other than that I would wait until tuesday rather than risk a leak & lack of oil to the turbo.

Anyone else have any ideas on my situation.

try the straightest path to the oil filter housing. i originally ran my SBR SS feed line UNDER the turbo and it barely made it. ran it OVER the turbo and over the o2/dp and she's got plenty of free play..

anyone else leak oil like a mother effer from that stupid fitting? yes i tried teflon tape, paste and even RTV

I am running the line over the front of the turbo and in front o2 and dp and still not enough length. I am going to call them on tuesday maybe they sent me the wrong line.

Thanks for the help

Weird, I just Installed mine today, infront of the Turbo and DP and there is plenty of slack. Maybe they sent you the wrong line by mistake.

I am routing it to the stock location on the oil filter housing.

Just measured the line and it looks like it is 19", 20" at the most and thats from fitting end to fitting end.

What do you mean get rid of the oil to water cooler in my pic???

Got a new oil feed line from sbr and sure enough the original one was about 5" to short. Fixed the problem.

Thanks for all your help guys. :thumb:
