I did a few searches for this but I can't find anything, tell me if you found anything using another spelling or adjective.

The shifting in my 95' GSX Auto feels pretty nasty, and seems to be getting worst. I bought the car about a year ago and couldn't really notice it when I first got it, but now I can. I know problems with trannys progress rather quickly so I would like to fix it ASAP.

There's 3 main symptoms.
1) When I'm sitting in Park and I put it into Reverse it makes a loud (audible from the exterior and interior of the car) clank. If I press the break down ALL of the way the sound is less audible.
2) When I'm stopping or slowing to a stop after it being in 2nd-4th gear I can feel it downshifting. It feels just nasty and I hate it.
3) When I'm coasting down a long hill, i.e. if I'm just cruising down a hill with my foot off of the gas after about 10 seconds it will downshift violently. (I've heard other people talk about this problem)

Has anyone had this problem? Would IPT's rebuilt kit fix it or what? Throw me your input and again if someone found a thread about this already please post it so I can go check it out. Thanks

my car has the same problem with the downshifting after being in 2-4 gears...im thinking about just take a week or two and doing a full tranny swap to manual, cause i think my auto is jacked up :'(

The clunking sounds like the rear or t-case. Hard down shifting sounds like valve body.

Trans motor mount is most likely your problem. Chk and maybe upgrade to something better than stock.

Wouldn't dirty pulse generators cause it to downshift when going down hill?
