well i got the fog lights for my car and bought the 97 fog light mounts, but the fogs wont fit. their is a nice gap inbetween the lamps and the mounts. do i need any other parts to install the fog lights? i was told all i needed was the brackets and lights. please give me advice.

i figured out how to line them up right with the 97 brackets. now i have to finish the wiring.

If you had factory driving lights, just tap into the wiring for those, that's what I did. Then you don't have to try to feed the wiring through the firewall & find a place to put the switch.

thats what i wanted to do, but everyone i asked said that you really need to directly have the fogs wired to the battery and use the piaa harness.

No you don't. I've had mine on my car for 2+ years & I haven't had any problems.

The only reason that I would think that you would need them wired directly to the battery would be so that you could turn them on at any time, instead of only when your low beams are on.

I still have my wiring harness in the box, I never used 'em. I just connected the original wiring to the PIAA lamp wires. I think that there were only 2 wires from the stock lights, 2 wires from the PIAA's, that's all you need.
