anyone know the correct way to make the rear brake light overlay? ive seen some that people have made that say T U R B O.

I did that to my 3rd brake light a long time ago. I just used Tinting Spray in a can. I drew out a template that said TURBO, I cut it out, and taped and used very small tabs of super glue to hold down all the corners so the Tint Spray would not run under the paper. Then just spray over the 3rd brake light. That easy.

where can i get spray tint in a can? ive never heard of it. what is the brand name?

or,

could i just use black spray paint and do really thin coats

Any R/c Car Shop should have tint in a can, it is used alot in rc car bodys. I think Summit Racing also carries some by VHT I think it is that makes brake calipier paint its call Nite Shades.

^^ best way ... no light will bleed. easy as cake.
ya just tell them you want the part they normaly pitch. it would be a reverse cutout.

First I got the led strips from inside a Escalade EXT's third brake light assembly. Then I took apart my stock center piece. Next I glued the led's to the inside of the center piece, drilled a small hole for the wire and reassembled the tail light. The TURBO badge is from a older Saab I stole from the junk yard 6 years ago :shhh: . I also bought six led replacement bulbs for the outside lenses. What do you think, rice or nice?

I think it is Nice. Looks really well put together and thought out. I plan on shaving off the TALON on my center peice, paint it the body color. And find a Turbo badge and place it where the TALON was. Should look pretty slick.

I give your mod a :thumb:

I diddnt think that Turbo badge looked right. I mena it looks great, but i diddnt think it was stock. I like what you did. Kinda getting the urge to do somenhing like that to my laser.

i don't htink the turbo looks stock... u should do it fiero style!!!! paint the centersection but leave the words turbo (in another font... and bigger... not the one u have now) so that when u hit the brakes the turbo lights up... u get me? jsut a thought

hey when you pull the :talon: out of the center of the taillight, there wasnt' a hole or a cutout? Is that badge just glued TO the plastic or is it glued IN the plastic? I was gonna pull my and paint the center tail black and then put a porsche/VW turbo badge where it was.

I like it but you need more lights to fill in the dark strip on the bottom. :thumb:

I like it, and would agree with the above, needs to be illuminated just a little more. Been thinking bout doing this to laser also. This gives me a nice preview! Good job, thanks! :thumb: :laser:

The badge is just glued on. I pulled mine off 2 days ago and you cant tell anything was there, after cleaning it all up pretty.

I like the light mod, however I'd get rid of the turbo badge
