Blitz Urethane body kit problems nightmare

I guess you get what you pay for here is the kit I bought said it fit a 95-99 should have thrown up a flag. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=42611&item=2449958640 I asked before I bought it and he said the 95 headlights worked. Yes, they work if you cut the urethane bumper then it looks like shit. The bumper was so rough the seams were poking out all over it. gouges were in it as was the rear bumper needed a LOT of repairs. I got the 97 headlights as that is what it needed and then there was a gap of 1/2" from the bumper to the headlight. Did some mods to get it to look right, Rear bumper went on ok need a lot of filling as well as sanding. Side skirts what a joke I have to either cut them in half and mend um or get new skirts as the ones with the kit are 1/2" to long. Yes, to long each side try to force um and buckles big time. The kit is made by KBD that is the only thing printed on it. The seller well tough shit as far as he is concerned. I do have a friend that works at a body shop and he is going to do the painting. He told me when he saw the kit that there body shop would not touch it as it was such a piece of crap. Lucky for me he has helped me and I have about 30 hrs in the front and rear bumper with all the cutting grinding, etc., to get them to fit. Still have not done any filling or sanding as for the side skirts I am going to have to buy a new set as these are just to long. Well I have vented now do yourself a favor when you get a body kit pay the extra

That's why I prefer fiberglass...it's soo much easier to work with. Get a shitty urethane kit and you're pretty much screwed. Sorry to hear about that...I know how you feel.

I had pretty much the same problem but it was the back bumper that needed the most work. I had a fiberglass kit so it was much easier to fit and fix. I probably spent 30+ hours on the back bumper refiberglassing my reflief cuts, skim coating the sides to take waves out, etc. Suprisingly, the side skirs were the easiest to fit and mold on.

On a side note, I have never known any body shop that liked putting kits on cars...

My back bumper has like a 1 inch gap between the tails and wher eit starts... the body shop wouldnt even fix it.

And still everyone always disagrees with me when I say hand-laid fiberglass is the way to go.

Unfortunately, you had to learn an expensive lesson.

Hey Cait, didnt you read his post. the starting line was "I guess you get what you pay for". Man im sorry to hear about that shit. I cant beleive "manufacturers" would even try to sell that shit? Sideskirts that were too long for the car? Its like they looked at some pictures of a kit, decided to rip it off, took some guestimates at the length, and threw the shit together. That sucks mang. hopefully you can get this one looking good or find another one.

Yeah, that isn't easy to fix, but with fiberglass and reinforced body filler you can do practically anything as long as you can stand the fumes and stickiness.
