thats a pretty good question that id like to know too..you think someone wouldve tried it by now..

We've had a few quote requests for turbine polishing but none ever became orders... but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Heck, if it's aluminum, it can be polished.

I personally think it looks awesome, but I've only seen it on the Supras and FDs as well.

Scott the exhaust side is nickel iron. It could be ground and polished but it won't stay shiny very long. The best thing you could do is get it coated with somthing like jet-hot after cleaning up the casting.

Good point, I did some research after I posted that and found out that little bit of info... was hoping no one would catch it:cool:. Anyways, what I normally do in situations with other types of metal like steel and nickel iron is polish it up then add a clear powder coat to it to keep it from losing the shine. I doubt it would hold up on a part that gets that hot though. Guess turbine polishing isn't too much of an option anymore...

c0degsx, looks like turbine polishing won't be the best option. But overall, our polishing doesn't require much upkeep at all. I usually recommend a customer buys a little container of Mothers Mag aluminum polish and just rub a little on if the luster starts to fade. Always brings the shine right back to the day it was polished. Also, if you were looking for something with even less maintenance you can always go for a clear powder coat on the polished parts for just a little bit extra. Email me if you want to talk a little more in-depth about pricing and what not.

Leo, PM'ed you back.

TRMotorsports, I'm about two hours away from you. If you get on I-40 and go towards Asheville I'm roughly half way in between. Anyways, assuming you drive a 420A N/T, which I got from your info under your name, we can polish it for $115. Shipping will be $10 via UPS with insurance.

Email me at [email protected] if you want to go ahead and work out an order or have any other questions.

Thanks,
Scott

The most common is of course the valve cover like you said, but we've done so many little odd and ends that its hard to remember them all. We do a lot of intake manifolds and fuel rails also. Basically, if its aluminum it can be polished. If it isn't, it still might can be polished, it will just need a clear coat on top.

Another option is powder coating... any little brackets or small engine parts can be powder coated right along with the big stuff like valve covers and intake manifolds.

Email me if you want to look more into placing an order or just want some information.

Thanks,
Scott

Sorry to be off topic, but what product do you use to put a clear coat over something you have polished? Just a regular can of any clear coat spray paint?

Actually, we have a clear powder coat. It's an extremely protective, smooth clear coat that acts just like powder coat. It's really a great finish to almost any part, powder coated or polished.

We charge $65 to do just the intake side of most turbos... Charlotte is about 3 or 3.5 hrs away from us. We are up about an hour west of Asheville. Shipping will be $12.

Thanks,
Scott
