Hey guys.... this is to anyone that's put an amp under their seat(s)... how in the hell do you pull that off?? The seats have that aluminum or steel curved brace under them that hangs way too low to fit anything thicker than like an inch under there!

How do you get around that? I'm kind of afraid to start bashing it with a hammer, or try to remove it or something...

I really, really don't want to resort to mounting my amp to the back seat because I have to be able to break down a bike and lay it in the back of my car (needs the seats down and would scratch/bash any amp to sh*t.

Help!

you could cut out carpet...but i wouldnt recomend it... if you did mount an amp under the seat, you might not be able to move the seat without wrecking the amp!you could always make a custom armrest for it... it would deffinately look sweet.... i might try it one day.

It's not hard, but you won't be able to move the seat forward or backward any more. Pull out the seat. Hook up the amp. With the amp toward the front of the car, mount the back of the seat. Position the amp and mount the front of the seat.

The amp I threw under there is a KAC-606. It's 8 11/16 X 2 1/16 X 9 inches. Its rms is only 50W X 2, but that's plenty for the 5 1/4" drivers I put in the dash.

i have a TV receiver under my passenger seat.... put washers on after u take the seat out so it sits higher....

i didnt do that, wish i did, now ive chipped some plastic off my receiver
:(
cry me a river!

why didn't you put those speakers in the doors if you where doin fiberglass? sound waves bounce really bad off windsheilds and it messes with your time alignment!.....i'm sure its not even noticeable actually im just a little tedious about audio.

We've really strayed from the initial post, but it brings the soundstage up to my ears. I have 6.5's in the doors. I didn't like hearing the music just below my legs. As far as time alignment, they were an on sale pair of Eclipse's. Not the best speakers in the world, I wound up having to get a crossover to kill the ear piercing midrange.

True that. Kickpanels are the way to go.
