I originally had 6.5" in the rear (factory). I got some Infinity Reference 9602ix's yesterday and I just cut the mount to get it to fit. I beat the fenderwall in on the right side, but for some reason the left side seems to fit fine. Has anyone gotten the speaker grills from their speakers to fit though? I don't think I have the guts to cut my panel since it's black and going to be impossible to find another one. I would love to show off my new speakers  If anyone can show me some pics of theirs and how they did it that would be great :thumb:

the stock speaker covers can pop out of the panel itself so you would only have to do very little cutting shouldnt be hard at all

Just cut a little at a time until you get it perfect. It's easy to do.

I am just really scared that it will go wrong and come out like trash.

I would but if I mess up I am stuck with it. I will never find a black panel. I guess nobody has done it? I would love to see how it looks.

You will need to trim the speaker cover a little, I had to when I fitted my pioneer's, its not a lot so just see where it needs trimming,

also as you hammered the wheel well check under where the wheel is as there is a seam there and it can have a small split so you need to cover that up if you dented it far enough.

Thanks for letting me know, as far as I can see there is no split. :thumb:

You make yourself a target for thieves doing this. Just some food for thought.
True, even though since I have installed the speakers I have driven around without my rear panels in and the speakers completely exposed :ohdamn: I will put on the panels when I am done with my project. For now I have to hope nobody breaks in.
