whenever id turn the directional on the radio would turn off then back on

97 talon tsi awd. Problem started 2 days ago, whenever id turn the directional on the radio would turn off then back on. The it grew into turning off randomly. Then the dash light would come on sporadically at a very dim brightness.

Finally last night the radio shut off completely and the windows wouldn't work. I thought it was the alternator so I took it out and had it tested. It was no good. Replaced the Alternator today and car started fine. Then I turned the headlights on and they wouldn't turn back off. The radio randomly went off again and the windows stopped.

I turned the car off stumped. I started it up to move it out of the garage and now the headlights work as well as the radio and windows (I'm sure they will go crazy again). I checked all the fuses up front and under the dash and they are all fine.

Check all the negative grounds on your harness under the hood and your battery connection. My 1 g went nuts similiarly when I had a loose negative with terminal corrosion on the battery terminal. I would remore, clean and reinstall the batery cables to start and then check grounds if that is not it.

mine started it too yesterday, the only thing i can think of is my friend sat a screw driver on my strut bar and rolled and hit the positive on the battery and sparks shot everywhere
