215/55/17 Fit on 17x7 rims?

I can pick up some real cheap tires size 215/55/17 but im not sure if they will fit on my 1g with 17x7 40 offset rims.. my car is lowered im not sure by how much tho i didnt put the springs on but its pretty low.. i currently have 215/45/17 on them. will the 55's work?

They'll probably fit but will throw off your speedometer because they will be larger in diameter than the stock wheels/tires.

well thats no big deal its allready off by 5, just as long as they fit and dont rub
