Car Cover Question

Your best bet would be to unscrew the antenna when using the cover. My Spyder has a power antenna, so it's not a problem getting the cover on. But, I would imagine if you found one to go over the antenna it would take you a week to get the cover on properly. :)

I suggest going with an OEM cover. They are expensive, but well worth every penny I paid.

eBay car cover, $69.98 shipped. Seller: cscsportsinc

I had to have my neighbor modify the straps because they sucked, and she added 3 more to make it more secure. I am pleased with the quality for how much it cost though. Because of the high rise spoiler it doesn't quite cover the entire back bumper. On my brothers car with the low spoiler it fits perfectly.

How much do the OE covers cost?

I got mine about 2 years ago and if I remember correctly, it was about $180. It fits perfectly so it won't blow around in the wind and scratch the paint and is very soft on the inside. Came with a steel cable and a lock so no one can steal it, provided they don't cut the lock. It also has a clear spot for the license plate so the cops don't give you crap if you park on the street.

But it's going to suck if Brian is correct. I was trying to get some floor mats, but my local dealer said they were discontinued and couldn't get them anymore. I was able to find some OEM on ebay from a Mitsubishi dealer, so you could always see if they could get them for you. According to their ebay listings, it seems as though they have a log of discontinued parts, so it's worth a shot.

Here is their contact information:

Well, I looked on CAPS and couldn't find a part number. I then called up Southwest Mitsubishi (a good place to get OEM parts that I usually recommend) and their parts manager said they were discontinued. He has never been wrong (as I usually double check with other Mitsu dealers), but it's at least worth a shot if you really want one. I also have heard that the floor mats were discontinued, which is why I've been looking on eBay. Sadly, the one place I wanted to get them from is having problems or something as they're not for sale anymore.

But as Eric said, we both have those covers and had them modified by our neighbor. They only came with two straps. We put it on his car on a semi-windy day and lets just say it didn't like to stay on. So now we have 5 straps and they stay on no matter what. Plus, they cost about 1/3 of an OEM one. They do not come with a cable and lock as the OEM one does, but that's not something I'm worried about. They are 4 layer, water resistant (not replant), and are soft on the inside.

Just an update. I take back what I said earlier in this thread - I would NOT recommend the ebay car cover. After having it a bit less than a year, the outer shell started cracking, exposing the material underneath. This let in a lot of moisture and the car would become pretty wet. We've had this exact same thing happen on both of our covers, and the eBay seller/company wouldn't do jack about their supposed warranty. We have covered a lot of the cracking on my brother's cover with duct tape, but it just keeps spreading.
