Ok so i stumbled upon a freebie 7" flip out dvd/cd player. The previous owner had the thing hooked up to a sony ps2. Well this got me thinking...I've had a slim playstation 2 just sitting around collecting dust since the day i bought my xb0x360. I would like to mount the PS2 in the glovebox if possible.

Has anyone attempted this or no of any bracket peice possibly made for this very idea (yea probably a fat chance i know)?? If not, anyone have any good ideas to secure the a slim ps2 in the glovebox of a 2g? i am worried about the consol being exposed to the harshness of the road (my dsm is lowered on eibachs) so the system has to be somewhat protected. I would like the consol to be as secure as possible. Also, i would prefer a clean install as i'm looking to do the project right the first time around. Looking around in the glovebox i am speachless how i could make a ps2 consol bracket work w/o a few screws drilled through the glovebox.

Anyway, any ideas? throw them out if you gotem! :rocks:

Back in '02 when the PS2 was still relativily new, I installed one in the dash (glovebox area) of my 2G (was a '95 GS at that time). I'll snag some pictures from my home PC in a couple hours and post them up. Mine was not a slim PS2, but hopefully my install can help steer you in the right direction.

(PS - Talking about this stuff brings back some memorys. I remember have a PS1 installed in my Civic back in '99. It's almost hard to believe it's been almost a decade since I was rocking that. :) )

yea if you could post some pics when you have a chance that would be sweet! :rocks: Do you still have a gaming consol in your dsm? even if you have pics of the ps1 in the civic post that up too if it was a clean install. By the way, that's funny that you mention that, because i am actually in the process of installing subs which i havn't had in my car since '99. I'm sure the first time i crank them up it will surely bring back some good ol' memorys as well.

install the original nintendo and get a good game of duck hunt going... Should be rather interesting.

i'll say it again. CARS ARE FOR DRIVING NOT PLAYING GAMES. buy grand turismo or need for speed and leave the games at home. not trying to be rude. some european cars dont even have cup holders or even radios some times. we should take a page from what ever book they're reading. they focus on driving. multi tasking while driving, or worrying about something else while drving is what causes accidents. how many times have all of us driven down the road behind some idiot that is all over the road and drove by and they were on the phone, and say to our selves "what a dumb ass".

Appreciate the advice but i have no desire to actually play dvds/games while driving. Nor would i ever let a passenger do so either. The only sound that I, as the driver, want to hear is music or the rumble of a 4g63 on crack. :D

However, like many others (or maybe just me hell i don't know) i tend to spend lots of "downtime" in random parked areas in the dsm. This would be when the dvd/ps2 would be used for entertainment.

I suppose besides the entertainment purpse (not quite my 55" sony sxrd 1080p though) other perks would include eye candy (common, it's a damn consol in the glovebox...baller ), and included nerd status. I mean afterall..it's a game consol in a car. :tease::cool:
