1g roof scoop

Well here goes nothing...............I know I am going to get major flack for admitting it, but at least I am honest. I have a roof scoop on my 1992 Talon and I like it. It is of course rice, but I don't pretend to be the fastest car around. My roof scoop is black like the top of the car so you do have to look to notice it. Where I live almost everybody likes it and it makes the car look more unique. It is an Love it or Hate it accessory. Don't dare think about getting it if you are timid. People will race you and it does draw stares quite often.....................but then again it could also be my APR GTI wing too:p
Sorry I don't have pictures right now in the gallery because my car is still a work in progress. It looks sweet to me. I know of a couple of places you can get one so personal email me if you want to get one. As I said before this is not for everyone, but if you are thinking about getting one, then you must like this sort of thing and if you do get it and have fun with it. Don't expect universal praise or approval.:thumb:

Doesnt matter, people need to understand. I mean a Hood scoop on a 1g??? What the!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I know, people will always have their own tastes but I drive a 1G as well and dsm's are starting to be compared to the Honda crowd. Makes me very sad :(

I agree. However, this is the "non-performance"mods section ;)

what does posting in the "non performance" mod section have to do with anything? :)

Its exactly like adding neons, window washer lights, valve stem lights, park bench wings, or snow plow bumpers, they are all ricey mods and I stated so :)

It kills me to see this stuff, and now Im guessing roof scoops are going to be the next big thing. Im just upset because the dsm name is going downhill. Its upsetting visiting domestic car forums and seeing the dsm name being tossed around with the word ricer and civic.

Take no offence fella's! This is coming from a guy without a sticker on his car, so what do i know :D

I say this should be "Indirect Performance Mods" For the wise know that spoilers and areo kits do do things if they are mad right... well more for race cars so what the hey, i thik hood scoops are cool IF and ONLY IF they do something, its just drag other wise, if they were intake to a mid engine or to get air in the cab like on rally cars then thats cool

As long as your car is fast and you like it who cares what others say. If the DSM's are being compared to Honda's oh well:rolleyes:. If your car is fast you will still win races/competitions and people will underestimate you and you will make them look silly. In my opinion you should be glad yours is fast. People making their older 1G's more ricer will make your sleeper stand out more :thumb:

Rice is one thing, but rice on a 1G just makes me want to puke.:barf: "Rice lovers" are for sure good for one thing tho..............a good laugh.

O ha i know bc the fast and the furious one had one

I know a few of you have brought up the point of the car being a front engine format... but don't some rally cars have them? Like the subaru impreza rally car? I know i've scene them on professional rally cars that have front engines. Maybe there is another function for them?

It's their car, they can do what they like. We don't give you flak for having a Frank III instead od getting an ete-type turbo, a T-4, or a 20G. Everyone has their own tastes and their own preferences. I think windshield wiper neons are uber stupid. But you know why I don't say anything? Because I think a true carbon fiber interior with a matching trim is quite a sight to see. And some people would say"changing the interior to another color?! THATS RICE!"

We get it already. We all know what typical rice is by now. There is no reason to keep reiterating it.

As for the roof scoop, they are completely custom. I know you can go to wingswest, erebuni, ebay or whatever and buy one. Then you just mold it on (not that hard for a garage bodywork guy)

I'm really interested in getting a hood scoop by summer. My friend has a 626 that use to get to about midway on his temp gauge during the summer. He got a Ram Air hoodscoop and during the rest of summer it'd barely get over the 1/4 mark. I know someone is designing a hood for the 1g's like the 2gs have (the one with 4 openenings) Now this is an exterior mod I can hope for since Florida gets in the high 90's all summer long.

thank you people pay money for their cars and do things that they want to them so all u guys that dont like ill just say noone gives a rats ass what u think, in my opinion every year eclipse made looks a hella lot better when it is riced out especially the 2g, so eat that.

What a grammar nightmare. It's not surprising a comment like this would come from someone who actually "likes" rice.

actually. i don't believe that grammar is his problem, rather its the lack of punctuation. That is if you want to get all technical and sh!t about it. Also, i'm aware there are errors that can be found in what i type but really, who the hell cares? Stick to the topic why don't you? :thumb: :dsm:

gram·mar n.- 1. The study of how words and their component parts combine to form sentences. 2. The study of structural relationships in language or in a language, sometimes including pronunciation, meaning, and linguistic history.

Yeah, I believe I had it right the first time. And unless you also go by the name "vtecdiet," I wasn't talking about you. Chill.

chill? Nah, i just wanted to add my two cents. Btw, notice it says and "sometimes punctuation" so it was actually his sentence structure that was all wrong. You were close but no cigar. Unfortunately you pick up all these things and just about every technicality that goes with them when one of your friends is an English teacher. So please don't confuse me for being upset or pissed off, i'm simply disputing what you said. :dsm: :D
