Ive searched, and can't seem to find a vendor that sells 2g headliners. So if anyone would have any idea of where i could find one id appreciated it. Also... no sunroof.

Thanks

go to 2gnt.com >Announcements forum >Group BUys sub forum. look for recent posts by user "TopShop". I'm not into thaat kinda stuff but seems like lots of guys buy from them they make fiberglass and cf headliners. whatever floats your boat.
fug it I did the work for ya: topshopheadliners

is yours just gettin old, and u want it replaced??? Cuz if so i'd take it to a local upholstry shop and have it redone. I think around here if u go cheap its maybe 30. Thats just somethin i remember hearin. Good luck man

Thanks, ive looked in the junkyard, they only have one eclipse and talon, and both have sunroofs.. sigh.. But mine is just fallin in like crazy, im thinkin about just thumb-tackin the whole damn thing up.

And about the fiberglass and carbon fiber headliner.. thats just insane, theres no way id put that in my car!

But thanks all.

Agreed, I had mine done a few years back for about $100. It came out great. My sunroof leaked recently though so it will need to be redone down the road.

So my headliner started to fall and I tried to tack it up with those headliner pins you buy from the auto parts store but that shit didnt work well.

I hit a few bone yards looking for a decent headliner but I couldnt find one that hadnt either started to fall or was dirty as hell.

I saw a flyer in the paper that a local fabric store had a sale so I went to scope out something that I could use to recover my head liner with.

I found that stuff like they use to cover speaker boxes on sale. Well its felt but it looks the same.

Wasnt heavy and it looks nice.

I prep'ed my head liner by removing all the padding down to the foam then washed it off with a wet rag and let it air dry. Then I cut a test strip of the felt and sparyed it with that tack glue you use for this type of stuff. I bought Elmers Crafts super tack something or another. Said it works on foam, felt, blah blah.

Anyway i put the test strip on the foam and let it dry. Boy let me tell you the shit was on there good. I could hardly peel the test strip off without damaging the foam headliner.

Anyway ones I got it off I cut my felt and rolls it up and sprayed like a 4 inch strip of foam and rolled the felt on, smoothed it and did another 4 inches.

I used about half the 20 oz can of tack glue.

When I was done I used an Xacto knife to cut out all the holes and stuff.

Then I installed my fresh headliner...

5 days later its starting to fall quite a few spots.

I let the thing dry for hours before installing it.

Anyone ever done anything like this? What did I do wrong?

I just replaced mine. I found one in a junk yard. DSMs are all over the place. Also, you could try posting on dsmtrader looking for one in good condition. Repairing them with a kit usually doesn't work.

O I found plenty of them, they all looked like crap.

I'd rather felt cover one. Looks REALLY nice. I just need to know where I messed up.

I think the glue might have been the issue but I dont know what kind to use. Someone said 3m, and 3m makes like 20 kinds. The 3m Super 77 I was told to use, people on this forum said it bad and falls when it gets warm.

I think I just need to find the right glue.
