Thats right..a stock 2gb Eclipse Bumper! Time to get rid of the fiberglass crappy invader bumper I was fixing over and over again. I still have to get headlights, a RMLIP, and get it painted before it actually goes onto the car again.

I do have a question..where would I go to get the stock nuts & Bolts to hook the bumper up?

Go to the dealer if you don't mind spending some $ on the bolts...

Ah yes, the 2Gb front bumper is very slick. Imo no aftermarket bumper can touch it.

Iv been looking for one my self as the 2Ga bumper I have suffered a serious crack last winter from a rock.

Best of luck getting it back out of your bum once mom sees the pics of it on her table

Or, that has to be the queerest garage I've ever seen.

Oh aren't you a funny one?

Defiant, Ever since I joined the forums, you have never ceased to amaze me with your witty remarks. You make this board kickass. :thumb:

... oh and so do the 45,000+ other members. ;)

... oh and about the bumper, cut that little lip out of the big opening, it makes the bumper look more aggresive IMO.

Yes, but looks aren't everything.... :D

See but the problem is I don't have another bumper, the one I was using broke so now I need a new one..why not switch it with something else?

Nice bumper not to hijack this or anything, but somebody suggested that you should cut the little piece in the middle to make it more aggresive, well that is what I want to do but the shop told me that my bumper support is behind the area and that it would not work? I have seen plenty of people do it so does it work if i cut into the bumper support? I would love to show a little bit more of my FMIC!!

Incorrect. The 2GB Talon bumper is the most beautiful in the world. You have number 2. :thumb:

yes, the actual front bumper of the car is behind that little lip. most people that cut that out do so because they dont have the bumper, like me.

I am planning on buying a 95 TSI and want to do the conversion. What is all needed to do the swap.
-front bumper
-headlights
-hardware

Someone told me that I would need a new hood and fenders, but I told him I didn't think so.

I'm actually going to keep that piece...since my car is dark grey I'm going to paint that section silver, the fog holders silver, and the lip (when I get it) silver.

To do the front end conversion you need headlights, and front bumper that is about it really. If you get the 2gb OEM Headlights (good freakin' luck) its pretty much a direct bolt-on.

6 YEAR OLD THREAD, GO!

I'm about to buy a brand new genuine OEM 2gb bumper... so I'm researching, and found this thread most applicable.

I need to know if my 2ga hardware will work to mount the bumper! If not, is it just bolts, or is there some special brace or something that I will need - again - something that I wouldn't already have, with a '95 Eclipse? I wouldn't know what search terms to use even, so that I can buy the hardware.

I would also like to know what color the OEM part comes as - flat black, like in the pictures above? (That would be lucky, since my car is mostly flat black by now, after 16 years in the weather). Paint is coming somewhat later in my project, if I can wait.

The bumper shown in the first post is not OEM, right? I see it's missing the Mitsubishi badge imprint. So maybe the OEM bumper comes in a different color - yellow or white or something, eh?

Finally, I want to know if anyone has done anything with the roughness around the edges in the fog lamp mounting area, or what people have done instead of using the fog lamp bezel, besides just leaving it like that. It looks a bit unfinished.

I know many (including me) don't use the fog lights anymore, and I personally don't appreciate the way the bezel looks (plus it costs extra!), so I'm fishing for ideas here. Something, just to "take the edge off", and make it look less like it's missing pieces. Share some ideas.

My car is black, so that's probably an advantage here, hiding such flaws to some degree.

Anyone trim the edges of the hole a bit?

I may actually (finally) try to route some flexible ducts from those holes to behind the wheels, to cool the front brakes. Something I've wanted to do for a decade. Example:

Hardware is the same, the bumper comes black. I've noticed that most of these bumpers come without the Mitsu logo imprint on them. I purchased two from Certifit (aftermarket $47) and one came with the triangle imprint and one without.

$47 for the front bumper? That's so cheap, I'd be stupid to pay $130 more for the OEM with the Mitsubishi logo, I guess. So other than that it's the same material?

Baltimore isn't that far away, would be worth the trip.

So what about the fog lamp bezel? It's also sold as a separate part as well, without the fog lamps.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if there's something else I could do to make it look a bit more finished, other than buying the bezels. Trim it up or cover it up. Just looking for ideas. It's hard to tell without seeing it in person, but it looks rough. W/e, I'll just call them and make sure they have it and drive out there to pick it up. If it's too rough, maybe I'll get the bezels too.

Thanks

Yes, $47 bucks and honestly for that cheap I wouldn't even go OEM. It seems like the material might be ABS or poly, honestly I'm not sure. The fitment is perfect though and it doesn't look deformed or doesn't flap in the wind at high speeds like I've seen with other bumpers.

And yes, the fog bezels are sold separately and I would recommend getting them along with some 2GB fogs and FMIC to complete the front end. I've seen the bezels new for $50/pair on EBay.

I don't think it's worth it though and I would probably try to find some used locally or on here. Fog lamps can be had in the classifieds for roughly between $40-$100 shipped depending on the condition.

They did make caps for the spot for the fog light, for cars that did not come with them. I used to have a set years ago but I think they are long gone now. Or am I thinking about the otter hole. Shoot I just confused my self LOL. Anyways they do make covers for where the fog light went .
