I just put new chrome wheels on my car and was wondering how to make them last a long time. I allready waxed them. What other tricks arew there?

Meguires makes a product called "Hot Rims" or somethin along that nature.. it comes in a redish spray bottle... you just spray it on and wait a minute, wash it off with a hose, then dry it off... I use this every time i clean my wheels and it works really well. You'll be pleased with the end result, and it's only like $5 topps.. :thumb:

Well cleanings not a problem..I just want to keep them from rusting.peeling..ext Thanks! :thumb:

Then buy some kind of chrome polish and use that every now and then, and try not to drive in the snow a whole bunch. Because of the salts and crap on the road, that will kill a chrome rim faster than anything.. Take that from expierence, i'm on my second set of wheels for my truck. I'm a little more careful with the eclipse.

Ok..my 2 cents. We wont get into my history with chrome wheels...but here is what I have learned.

Took me a while on this one cause I love my wheels - I was in denial and wanted them to last forever....Gotta remember chrome is only a coating. Doesn't matter if it was single, double, tripple chrome plated. It won't last forever.

When washing the car...I use a separate super soft mit and a fresh bucket of water before washing them - not the same one used to wash the actual car. Dry them completely. I also use, believe it or not, Mothers past wax on them. To get out tar spots, I use Mothers with Pre-Wax Cleaner and rub gently. If the car got rained on....I keep a spray bottle in the garage with a little car wash soap in it. Spray them down and wipe em off....same thing in the snow. I try not to use baby in winter...but it being my only car for now...I have no choice. It is best to keep salt, water and break dust off them - when you can. I have often found after washing the car, there are areas where water sits - dont let it. I had a set bubble after water sat in the corners of the rims. Its a pain in the a$$ but if you baby them, they will last longer.

Do I sound anal yet? OMG

LOL! No not really..When you spend a grand or so in chrome wheels you tend to get that way..Yea i already waxed them with mothers gold paste .Im in my garage every day with a soft cloth getting all the brake dust and minor dirt off..Iv herd of something called weenal and something called zoop chrome sealer ..i think thats what its called..anyone use this?
