I'm sure everyone will agree, the tall 1G shift knob sucks. That thing is friggin' huge. However, the 'tuner' shops only seem to carry cheesy universal shift knobs that attach with a set screw. Well, after putting the giant chrome skull in my 4x4 mud truck, I found out that you can't get the set screw tight enough without stripping it out. Nothing is quite as bad as your shift knob coming off after every 1-2 power shift, especially when you're sunk up to the top of 38.5" Super Swampers and trying to dig your way out... I quickly swapped that out for a Hurst T-handle that doesn't budge, but you can bet the threads don't match up to our DSM shifters. By a stroke of fortune, I found this shift knob in a totalled '94 Talon with a 1.8 and a 5 speed. Surely this isn't an OEM shift knob, but it sure looks like it could be. What in the world is it out of? Fits great on my '91, and feels awesome. Not sure if it will make any difference as the tranny is out at the moment, but wow... Don't mind the dust, car has been sitting for a while now.
