Yikes, that porridge is too warm. Try 250° or so.

Definately!
Before you end up with headlight roast or something!

But just follow those instructions and you will be fine.
The taillights should be the same procedure but alot of people just "smoke" those and don't paint them.

Goodluck with whatever you choose.

PM Tom Sawyer on here. And look at his pics in his gallery. He has a white 99' and he painted his insides white. Looks good if you are going for a certain color theme.

If they are altezzas, I've seen it done and thought it looked good on white...I dunno about copper durango pearl. It takes about 8 minutes on a 225 degree preheated oven to get them apart. Be patient separating them because the plastic will bend and then cool in that shape. I would separate the light completely until you have just the chrome piece you want to paint. Hang it on a clothes line outside once it's all cleaned off with an untwisted coat hanger and spray light coats until you're satisfied. This is what I did with my headlights and they came out really well.

Is that the name of the color? It does look copper and that is what I call it too. I plan on pulling the chrome out of the head lights so it looks like the 1g lights, and for the tails, pick up a set of euro's and painting the inner housing. You think it'll look good? I really think euro's are gawdy but might look good with the center piece painted and the housing painted.

Well if you did that you might as well go with cf tails. That's what I did. In fact, rather than paint the stock middle section like most people, I had the middle cf tail section with the g-ay middle reflectors painted over instead. This accomplished the same thing, but also retained the cf look for the housing. It looks great...check my gallery.

When you have the new tails in, around the middle section you will be able to see the housing color through the gaps. It's nice to have it all uniform when people see it up close.

Then again, I think the color scheme of my car really helps make the look better overall.

Nice! But not the look I am lookin for. I kind of wanted to actually take away from the lines of the tail lights, make them blend (by painting them) so that the only real accent was the red circles behind the clear, you know what i mean? I dunno maybe I am dreamin. I think it would be different on an orange car.
