still not clear on what an SFMU is but if I get an SAFC, do you guys still feel a SFMU is needed?

Somebody fill me in on some more innfo please, I may wait till I get an SFMU to install my turbo kit...

With the AFC...what it is all about is adjusting your injectors, not your fuel pressure to the rail...It taps in the ECU's signal to read, and re-adjust (based on your settings) the richness your injectors run...With the vortech piece, yeah its great to have the adjusted fuel pressure in the rail...But your injectors, wouldnt know what to do with it...The best thing, is get both, and a long with them have a HUGE degree of tunability (is that a word??)...Do you see what I mean??...and I hope that I have answered your question...

Acctually the SFMU is more important than the SAFC. You will need the SFMU to even idle with injectors large enough to use the SAFC with. Does that make sence? The SFMU allowes you to adjust the idle pressure of the car (so you can run bigger injectors) and the ratio for boost vs fuel pressure. That way you can tune your rise rate and your idle. Now the SAFC allowes you to adjust your fuel by playing with the map sensor. Do not lean much on the SAFC though because it can cause your timing to advance at the wrong times. Your fuel runs based on MAP sensor imput (that's why the SAFC uses that method to adjust fuel) but in our cars the MAP signal is also used for load and timing purposes. So if you use the SAFC just be careful.

Well an SFMU is not a MUST before installing a stage 2, but it is a bonus. The regulator Hahn sells is very unreliable with pressures. I would reccomend it and I think it is a better option but I would not say it is a "must".
