alright, before anyone jumps on me for not doing my homework, i have! i have done searches and read all posts that are relevant to what i want to do, but i just have some final questions, cause im in the last stages of deciding between the hahn stage I and the star stage I. i also realize i will only be able to safely push 5-6psi without an intercooler.

1) does the stage I kit come with a BOV of any type without paying extra???
2) does the stage I kit come with all of the necessary gaskets and connecting pieces (i mean, is ANYTHING left out)??
3) most importantly, where is the easiest most reliable place for me to get a stage I kit, considering i live in buffalo, NY???
4) can i use the instructions for the Hahn stage I kit as a supplement to the very short star instructions???

thanks in advance to everyone who responds to this thread, you are definitely helping me out with any info you provide.

1.) Yes it's accually an HKS, it looks very similar to a 1g stock BOV.
2.) Yes it comes with all the necessary hardwear for stage one.
3.) When you have the money together and are ready and have made your decision, PM me your info.
4.) I'm sure you can for things like oil lines, but that's about it. Basically the kit just bolts on, it's pretty straight foward. The hardest part for most people it the fuel and oil, even then it's not at bad at all. However, I don't know where HRC taps for their oil line, and there fuel rewire (no pump supplied) is kind of, well, cheap IMHO.

Hope this helps a little. Let me know if you have any more questions!

thanks a lot man....

so the hrc stage I doesnt come with a fuel pump, and the star stage I does? this is a bit unclear to me

Yes the HRC kit comes with a fuel pump. It's an inline fuel pump. They both pull oil from the oil sensor, so yes you can use the instructions for the HRC. It is a scary install, but it is pretty easy when you get down to it. There is no way to have "everything" on hand for install because things pop up. Like when I was installing my kit, we found out that my oil sensor is not the same sensor that is on any other 420a I have ever seen. All of the oil sensors in these cars (420a) were supposed to screw into a 1/8 inch NPT sized hole on the back of the block. My oil sensor was larger, and had a 1/4 inch NPT sized hole tapped into the block. So it seems like every install has one quirk or another. Also make sure you get your exhaust mani gasket, and any other odds and ends before the install.

HRC stage 1 and 2 to my knowledge does not come with a fuel pump at all!

Damn, well, I guess before you state that you know everything about both kits you should actually do your homework. Yes, the kit comes with an external, inline fuel pump, not just an intank one which doesn't supply enough fuel.

Ah thank you for pointing that out, you're right I don't know the HRC kit all THAT well, but are you telling me that a Walboro 255 isn't going to supply enough fuel.......hum.........who needs to do who's homework......:D

BTW, I'm guessing it's not a fuel pump but a voltage amplifier that increses the volts to the pump making it flow more, correct? Some call it an inline fuel pump, but that's my guess.

Walbro 255 flow PLENTY of fuel. The only thing bad about the Walbro is trying to get high fuel PRESSURES from it. It flows tons but the pressure isn't there. If people are going to run 100+ psi on their stock injectors I would be very wary about JUST using the walbro. Get some bigger injectors people and don't run 100+ psi. The accel inline easily flows 110 psi pressure from what I understand.

Also one more thing, don't make the mistake of confusing the fact that there are two different Walbro 255 fuel pumps. The regular 255 wont support anything over 90psi, but the 255HP in tank pump will support 110psi. Still anything over 110psi and an inline is not a bad idea.

Siue, 98...... let's not turn this into another bash each others kit thread. Yes the HRC comes with an accel inline fuel pump, a real fuel pump. And the Wahlbro High pressure pump is ok but if you have the low pressure I would upgrade inj. or get an inline, just to be safe. Gaskets are real cheap, you can even use RTV.
