My questions are can I use 6-bolt turbo bottom end aftermarket parts(pistons, crank, rods) on a 6-bolt n/t bottom end. And my other question is will a 7 bolt turbo head fit on the 6 bolt n/t bottom end or should I just rebuild the n/t head. I have the 6 bolt n/t engine in good condition for free and I planned on building up an engine for big boost in my 95 TSi anyway.

Wow I cannot believe there are all these knowledgeable people on this forum and nobody can help answer my measly 2 questions

get some 2 gen pistons on you 1g rods, keep your nt head as there's no difference, get turbo cams.
people are going to argue about the oil sq but if you read there was a post a while ago about a guy who was building race engines using nt blocks. crank is the same, rods are the same.
i am in the process of building my nt block, keeping the head as i told you.

your pistons are the main thing that you wanna change on your n/t block, since they are weak and the rings are weak, you wouldnt be able to run a lot of boost, so some 2g pistons, or a good forged piston would be good for your setup, turbo cams would be good too but you dont have to have them, but cheap hp, maybe 5-7hp if your lucky. But i would definitely do pistons to keep from detonation.
