designing cold air intake

Im thinking of designing a Cold Ram air intake for 1g non turbo.
The first thing i wanna do is to remove the K&N filter that comes with the injen intake system and move it closer underneath the bumper left corner where the foglights sits. Then i would run a flexible aluminum duct pipe from the filter to the MAS sensor. The old rubber intake hose or the injen intake pipe will be in the same position.

Now the question is...would this create a turbulence? also im concerned about the filter lifespan since it will be halfway exposed outside ...ne ways just my idea and im planning to do it. i need sum feed back or comments here later all.

hwy don't you just use an upper intercooler pipe and put the filter where the the intercooler would be.... no worrying about fabricating something up. you have a 92 so it would be no trouble at all.....and it would be right out of the engine bay as well....might havta clean the k&n more often but i dont think water would be a big problem unlkess you submerge the front of ur car......and lets all hope that doesnt happen.

hmn..would it be better if i sealed the filter again using the old can and cut open the front of that old can and attached a 6inchez flexible duct that runs from the front bumper? but i need to find a shorter stainless steel pipe that will go to the throttle body...ne ways thanx for the feed backs...later all.
