I just bought a Turbonetics t3/t4 turbo, with a vortec 12:1 fmu, a turbonetics deltagate wastegate, intercooler, blowoff valve and and the lines and piping and fittings that i need to hook it up to my 95 420a eclipse motor.

I read that all i will need to hook this up to only run 8 psi is aftermarket fuel pump so i bought a walbro 255. Just making sure that this is all i will need to run this amount of boost. Im also getting 550cc injectors.

I also been reading on how to hook up the fmu, wastegate and turbo lines and i just want to make sure im right. The turbo, there is one fitting on the turbine side i believe that it is some sort of vacuum line witch i dont know were that one goes too. Then there is a fitting on the top witch i believe is the oil feed line, and i believe the tube in the bottom is the oil dump tube. I know i have to tap a line into my oil pan, were does that line go into the turbo at. Is this were the oil dump tube line will go into and if so were do i tap into to put oil into the feel line.

Next i have the fmu, its got three fitting on it the one on the back i believe hooks up to the return line that goes to the tank, and the one one the side that hooks up to the return line on the fuel rail and the vacuum line on the top i believe goes to maybe the fuel vacuum lines maybe? dont know about that one.

And finally the deltagate wastegate, has two fittings on it one on the side that says boost and one on the top that says vacuum, couldn't find were these ones hook up at.

If anyone has any input on any of this information i would be more than gracious to hear it from anyone to help me.

Thank you

Ok the fitting on the turbine is a small 1/8 npt for your oil supply, you are correct the one on the bottom is your oil drain and it goes to the oil pan as high up as you can get ( above oil level is fine ) the port on the turbo goes to the bottom port on the wastegate. The top port gets left open unless using a mbc. The fmu- top is for a vaccume source, side goes to the factory regulator and the bottom goes back to the tank. The fmu is good for 8psi but if your putting in the 550s right away youll need a sfmu cause you wont be able to idle without it. Hope this helps and get back if you need anythingelse.

Dont forget that your oil return should be at least 8an and the feed a 4an. You pick up the feed from the stock oil sensor buy using a 3/8 npt T which will screw into the block you sensor into that and a 3/8 reducer for the feed line itself

Ok, the wastegate, the vacuum port gets left open unless using a (mbc) what is this?

The fmu the vacuum port goes to the factory regulator, like the factory fuel pressure regulator vacuum source.

To feed the oil to the turbo were do i splice into to feed the turbo oil?

So will i be able to keep my stock injectors working fine with this setup only doing 8 psi? it would save me some money so i dont have to buy some 550 injectors or would it be a good idea to get these?

Thanks for the info it is being really useful right now.

A MBC is aka manual boost controller.I've never installed a kit on a 420a, but i know that i ran my oil feed line from the oil filter housing. It would be very wise to get an afc and some 550's.

Ok my friend has some 550's he will sell me for 100 bucks but what is the (afc) some sort of fuel managment thing.

And you ran the oil feel line from the oil filter housing how did you do that, what kind of hardware did you have to get?

And if i dont get a mbc then i can just leave the vacuum port on my wastegate open or should i cap it off.

100 bucks is a great deal on some 550's. Be sure to get new seals for them to avoid fuel/boost leaks. Well see my car is a 4g63 so i already had the oil feed line i just upgraded to a (SS)stainless steel feed line. I know that you being 420a can tap threw the oil pressure sensor behind the intake manifold. You will need a banjo bolt or something like it to tap into it. Not sure what size it is though.Hope this help you out a bit. When you say vacuum port on your wastegate do you mean the actuator. If so you need to run it to a pressure source like your intercooler piping post turbo. This is what signals the wastegate to open.Be sure they are secured very well. If they come off for some reason the wastegate gets no signal and you will overboost, and then it's bye bye motor.

Ok on the wastegate there is two ports one says boost and the other says vacuum and then you have the screw to adjust the spring inside. i was told to hook the boost port up to the vacuum port that i have on the turbine side of my turbo. Is this right?

And if i get the 550 injectors i will need to get a sfmu, or can i run it just plain with no fmu or anything with a walbro 255 fuel pump and the 550's or will i need to get the sfmu?

OK i see. Yes that is correct you want to run a vacuum line from the compressor(turbine)port to the boost port on the wastegate. With the 550's you will need an afc. This kinda compensates for the bigger injectors so you dont run pig rich, and you can get a nice tune out of it. You will want that fmu.

First of all you do not cap off the top port on the wastegate,it must breath so leave it be. You can not run 550s on your car without an sfmu, and if the 550s are from a 4g63 you need a resistor box to run them cause they are low impediance and our cars are high. You can buy high imp for a little more that will work and fit better than the 4g63 injectors and you dont have to screw with the resistor crap. In my first post i told you exactly where and what you need to run your oil feed set up. Becareful what some of the 4g63 guys tell you cause our motor is ### differant on how things work and they tend to forget this sometimes. They may be able to tell you some things that will help, but someone with the 420a will be a bigger help for the install. Your set up is identical to mine except i have the evolution wastegate. And back to the 550s and an afc, its pushing the limit off how much it will handle to lean your car out, and an afc isnt the best thing to use on our cars but does work but saposedly not under boost so ive heard. Ive got one on my car right now and only useing it to tune down how rich i am without boosting cause i keep getting the rich code

Ok so for right now it will be ok to run my stock injectors and use the vortec fmu that i got? I mean im only going to run 7 to 8 psi.

And just a thought isn't the turbine and compressor different sides on the turbo i mean you got your hot side and your cold side right? And this vacuum fitting that i have on the turbine side goes to the boost fitting that i have on my wastegate and the vacuum port on it stays open unless i use a mbc? right?

Should i upsize my exhaust with this little bit of boost that im going to be pushing or will it be fine to leave it stock?

And if there is anything that i might need to finish this setup please tell me, i dont want anything to go wrong this is my daily driver.

Thank you guys so much for helping me out. I appriciate it:dsm:

You got it man. Your stock injectors are fine with the fmu as long as its a 12-1. Your exhaust will be fine, i have 2 1/2 coming of of my turbo back in to the 2 1/4 stock exhaust right now running 12psi. I call it my ghetto exhaust but anyhow thats pretty much it that i can think of off the top of my head. When you hook up the I/C piping make sure your clamps are as tight as you can get them and make sure they are good reinforced couplers cause the rubber ones will expand and even bust causing nothing but problems for ya. Good luck and keep us updated
