Well, I haven't driven my car in about 2 months trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with it. Well, recently I've narrowed right down to the PCM/ECU (check engine light use to flash intermittenly on and off when I tried to start the car but doesn't even light up anymore when I attempt a crank and it obviously won't start).

So I'm wondering where else could I puchase a PCM besides the dealer and how much would it be?

thanks in advance.

That's the two places that I can't find them. I've been looking on Ebay for a 95 socket and they're all for 96-99 and the junkyards around here aren't very good and don't have the m/t pcms...So I'm pretty much at a loss at this point.

After a few trips to the dealer and Autozone I found a match on the new part number for my ecu and asked the dealer if they had to re-flash it to get the car running and he told me that i'd have to bring in the whole car in order for it to be flashed properly so I just told him I'd think about it. Then I went to Autozone and asked the guy there about their re-built ecus and he told me he wasn't exactly sure if I'd have to go to the dealer to get it flashed or if it'd be plug and play...

So, if I buy a PCM/ECU from Autozone will I be able to just plug it in and my car will just start up and run fine or will I have to tow it to the dealer to get it flashed???

What is autozone's return policy? I buy my parts at Schucks out here and if something doesn't work for me I take it back. I imagine that they would have a pretty lenient policy. If so just buy it, try it out and if it doesn't work take it back.

I wouldn't trust AutoZone with supplying you a decent replacement ECU. The dealer isn't completely unreasonable in this case: you can buy a remanufactured ECU for around $250. I don't think that's too bad considering how difficult they're becoming to find.

They pop up every now and then on eBay, and I'm sure you can find one by posting a WTB on 2GNT.com.
