Newbie question.. please read.

Hello everyone.

I know how much everyone HATES the newbie questions, but I have to ask.. I just got a 1990 Eclipse GS (1.8 SOHC 8v) for $ 100 bucks and I was wondering how easy or hard would it be to swap with a turbo engine? is it even worth it? (considering the price that I got the car).

This is my daily driver and I want to keep it somewhat reliable.. (I know is a DSM)

Any help would be apreciated.

it's alot of work, but if the car you got for a hundred bucks is in good condition i would do it. you've got a good bit of value in your car to play with...as long as the rest of the car is in good condition that is....

yea the car is in good shape, just needs a paint job but other than that is great.. so how much work is it?? any ideas were to start? like searching for a engine?

yea I know.. not bad for a beater, just needs a bit more power.. I'm used to my 420 rwhp supra

i talked to a few people at Mach V, as well as a few guys i know, expect to spend 6-7k and at least 5 days of down time. This was on a 2g car, the #'s might be lower for a 1g. Personnaly(sp) I would do an engine build up and throw a turbo on it.

...good job on getting a RUNNING car for 100 bucks
