Don't get one of those ebay intakes, they are garbage. I bought one for my car and it ran like garbage because they have no mass air flow sensor. Your best bet is to get an injen intake because it has the mass air flow sensor built in to it and it has a longer pipe and positions the filter better. I regaurds to you question about having to move the battery, you don't. They fit just fine. So i would say go for the ingen unless you are going to get the dsm traslator from punishment and a GM MAS. Hope this helps.

it did help and where would be able get ahold of the injen intakes?

thanks a lot

thanks a lot that site has the injen intake the cheapest price i seen so far. does anybody know how much hp this intake will probably give my car?

thanks a bunch!

Before my n/t conversion, I made an extension for the Injen intake to make it a CAI. Hid it where the stock SMIC was in the turbo model Talons. Very simple to do. Drive up to Canada and I'll give you cold air induction system.

My ebay intake works fine, but 1gnt racer is right about the MAS. The filter that comes with the kit wont work on out cars. SO what I did was Take the top half of the aircan and attach that to the intake (mas is still attatched to it) and went out and bought a better quality air filter and put it on. You can use the clips that are there to hold the filter on without the can or, you can use zip ties if it doesnt hold just right. I lost one of my clips so I used a zip tie on one side. Other than that the intake is really thin but it works fine for me. By the way its a little tight around the battery box, but nothing that caused me any problems. Heres a pic.

heres another one where you can see clearance issues. I had more of an issue near the thermostat housing than the battery box.

nisero re route your intake over a bit, trust me. my injen was that tight to the housing when i had my 1st 1g and there is a plug on the thermo housing that sticks out and the intake pushes on it. well if you drive lke i do its just a matter of time before the motor flexs and cracks that plug. well that plug is your temperature sensor in your dash. its a bi*** to find a new plug. took me a week to get mine and new there not that cheap for what they are.

just figured id share that. make a strap sorta hanger that pulls it off the housing a little. you can use the holes around where the intercooler piping would go throught if your car was turbo. its right inside the passenger inner fender

great thanks for the info, I didnt know there was a plug there, ill move that asap.

yea thats why i never got the ebay intake and just went all otu and got the injen. the injen was good but it also had its problems. the injen has a legnth to it that sticks the damn filter up against the damn adjustment knobfor the pop up head lights. when the motor tweaks the car doesnt and it justs the intake. you knwo how many times i had to pull opver at dark in the rain and mess with my headlight adjustment.

if you get the injen cut 2 inches off the very end of the intake where the fliter goes. youll thank me later.

my next intake will be homemade. all you need is 2 peices of exhaust piping in 3 inch size. slowboy has pre mandrel bent sections of exhaust piping in stainless. what im gonna do is run a maft setup and mas translator then run 3 inch piping to the tb. then ill run a 75mm tb and connect it liek that. 3 inch all the way up. thso way i can custom trim it and make it fit absolutely perfect. plus its insanely cheap

My homemade Intake works pretty well. I used the stock rubber tube, then took a universal filter and cut the opening bigger to house a few inches of my big MAF. Then, I took sheet metal and duct taped it around the rest of the MAF connecting it to the top of the old filter can. Pics soon. ;)
