I need to buy an Oil Pressure Gauge, but I'm not sure which is better and why. The short sweep costs tons less then the full sweep. Why is that?

Because the market will pay it. Oil pressure gauges need two readings: "Enough" and "None". Being able to see how much the pressure at the pump outlet varies will mostly worry you.Z32 said:I need to buy an Oil Pressure Gauge, but I'm not sure which is better and why. Some people perfer electric over mechanical and they also want full sweep over the short sweep. If you're picky, you must pay the price.
I personally would rather pay $35 for a full sweep mechanical gauge over paying or settling for either of the electric gauges...... But that's just my opinion.
Regarding the two electric gauges, they exist for preference only. They full both function equally. If you don't have a personal sweep preference, then go with the short sweep because it's an obvious money saver.
It can be. I'm not going to get in depth on the subject because I don't want to drift from the thread subject, but with mechanical gauges, it all depends on how you hook them up. The cheap nylon tubing has a high propensity to leak, whereas, stainless braided hose and AN fittings (basically long brake hose) will ensure a good seal in the cabin.suicidal2af said:I would like to have my gauge in the car; mechanical's not so good for that.
Ever run one? I have. Thirty years. Please stop spreading mama's tales.suicidal2af said:I would like to have my gauge in the car; mechanical's not so good for that.
