Airdam material - not the Home Depot landscaping stuff

This thread prompted me to act, I now have an airdam.

I haven't even gone down the driveway yet, so I don't know anything about this setup.

I have seen factory air dams that go straight down. So I wouldn't think it's to bad. Although that is a bit low. And I think I would paint it black or something.

When this thing scrapes, it's really loud.
Nothing's messed up though, I trimmed a half inch off and widened the whole works about eight inches.
No big difference to be felt at an Auto-X, but I set the trip odometer & topped off the gas tank for a milage check...29.6mpg!
Pretty big jump from 24mpg.

That RACEONEUSA splitter says it's made from "FRP", which might mean Fiber reinforced plastic but it still doesn't say what kind of plastic. I wish it had more detail.

You can get a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet of FRP at Home Depot for $35.00...Thats the same size as a sheet of plywood..I used some when making some air deflecters for my radiator..Very tough stuff and flexible too....

I did not really realize this til now Aaron, but that air-dam will technically bump you in a higher class than SM. With the FVSCC, we wont really be that picky, however, if you attend any of the Milwaukee SCCA events, you'll be bumped out of SM into a higher class.

Hmm...well, if it comes to that, it's not real hard to remove.
Right now I'm leaving it on for street use.
The air dam and the little bit I trimmed off the rear bumper really helped out the milage.
