[RESOLVED] What alternator would fit in a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse GSX 4g63T

So what would fit in a 97 gsx? Can I get one from a 1g FWD motor? or anything else....like a talon

1g alts are different with different connector/wires and won't work. Any 95-99 Eclipse or Talon turbo alt should work.

My friend told me that you could use a saturn altenator also. I'll have to ask him what year and car though. He also said that it puts out more power than the factory ones do.

The Saturn alternator takes some re-wiring knowledge, and some grinding. It is not a direct bolt-on affair. IMO just follow luv2rallye's advice and get a 95-99 4g63 alternator.

Oh yea what does the 1g harness colors go to for the 2g? I know I use the two middle wires. What color goes to what on the 1g harness?

97 gallant alternator is what I have and it bolts right up. Puts out 90 amps

really? Alright ill try the 1g alternator swap then ill try the galant....got the 1g from one of my buddys so it was free

the 95+ mitsubishi expo uses the same alternators on out 2g turbo dsm. its a direct swap and put out the same amps.
