Background: I drive a '96 spyder turbo. The car is my daily driver, and I have no intention of racing it anytime in the near future.

I'm planing on getting a set of 2.5"ID coilovers from Ground control, as well as Koni yellows and RRE's front upper plates. However, I was hoping to use the stock rear mounts 1) to keep the rubber shock mount so the ride is a little less harsh, and 2) to save the extra $200.

I jacked my car up, and it looks like a 2.5" ID spring wouldn't work with the stock rear upper spring perch though... I looks like the perch is designed for roughly a 3 or 3.5" ID spring. Am I right in saying that I can't use the stock rear upper spring perch with a 2.5" ID coilover spring?

Does anyone know what I could use to set the spring under that would work with a 2.5" ID spring, and NOT send the weight of the car into the shock rod (as a coaxial hat does)?

Thanks in advance!

The Ground Controls were designed so that you still use the stock mounts front and rear.
