idle and start problems

ok so pretty much my car has had starting problems since I bought it and it is only getting worse. Last time I started it it took like 10-15 tries to get it started and when it finally starts it dies at first. Also I don't know what normal idle is but mine is around 500 at first and around 650-700 when it is warmed up. when it is not warmed up if you give it any throttle at all it dies. It has to sit for 5-10 min just to warm up and after that there is no problems. I tried using the trouble codes but since my cars computer is apparently retarded it doesn't work and it just gives us random long and short lights. Any help at all would be welcome.

did you get this problem fixed yet? i had a gsx that did the same thing but more so in the fall and winter. check the sensors by your thermostat. there is one with a single pin and one with two pins in a T form make sure the wires are hooked up. a lot of times they get brittle and break off. plus look at the other sensors right there too. it could be that vacuum line sensor is cracked...

no unfortunately its not fixed yet. we messed with the throttle cable and it helped with the start but it is still running really rough at first.

Is it possible that this is being caused by a timing issue?

I am having similiar issues. But mine is turbo. Replace the temperatur sending unit first could be a big help.
