Datalogger Power Connection

Can anyone help,

I bought a Datalogger off ebay, I installed it as the instructions mentioned and it does not get power. I have three little wires connected but I have seen somewhere that they should be 4 wires, the 4th wire is connected to a fuse for a power supply. What could I have done wrong and what can I do to get power running to my datalogger to keep from going through batteries like crazy, this is getting old.

Please someone help.

I think you've got it all wrong here. The way it sounds is that your palm pilot needs AA batteries to run correct? Well if this is the case (and i believe it is) the cable has nothing to do with the power on your palm pilot. The 4th power wire you saw on some of the pics was for the power to the cable itself. If your palm pilot runs off AA batteries then your going to have to keep putting batteries in it. I don't know if they make some sort of car power adapter for it but that would probably get in the way of the datalogging cable.

My advice is go hit up ebay and pick up a palm pilot that has a rechargable battery in it. That is of course if i'm correct in my assumptions.

I want to say that you can add a extra wire and have power because I have read some places the there is a auto-on feature which I have but it does not come on. Again I just drop the motor in over the weekend and this is my first DSM and I am now learning more about the tuning. I will be getting a laptop with DSMLink and WideBand soon after breakin period is over but till than I need to tune the MAFT out. I will still use the PDA (backup) for monitering when I unhook the laptop from the car (Dont want everyone to know whats going on)

I am going to try something within the next few days and I will let you know the results. Wish me luck
