If u decide to use vht use the high temp ones that go to 2000F the manifold gets as hot as 1600F i believe. That 550 isnt gonna do anything cause the exhaust parts are hotter than that temp range.
I havent pulled the pin till after the tensioner pulley has been torqued down finger tight and the belt is taunt. After the pulley is torqued to spec then i remove the special tool and pin which moves freely anyhow weither it be on the bench or the car. No matter how i torque the pulley when i...
So after countless tries i cant seem to get the tensioner to tension corrrectly. Ive follwed the vfaq to the t and read on countless post that after rotating the crank 6 times and waiting 15 mins u should be able to slide the pin in and out of the tensioner is this true. Mine is brand new and as...
By looking at your mods so far u haven't setup a basic power goal. First i would suggest to do your maintenance first then decide how bad to u wanna go awd cause that's serious work and money on top of other power adders. Have u even checked the upgrade path provided by the website. You could...
Just took my timing belt and water pump off 2 hrs ago your motor mount should already be off. I had the same problem with the pulley end hitting the lines running in front of it. Ended up jacking up the motor higher and removing it through the front with the weep hole first then the other end...
So the special tool is for compressing the tensioner down and keeping it on the car. Thanks for the advice i already purchased all new parts and all the special tools so no reusing for me :)
I understand exactly what ## saying, the haynes manual doesn `t mention that until re-install it only says to remove the pulley then the tensioner bolts and the timing belt will come off just wondering if thats all i had to do.
Doing a timing belt job on a 95 tsi awd when reading through the haynes book it states to remove the tensioner pulley bolt and push towards water pump to remove then remove tensioner bolts and remove it then timing belt. But in the vfaq it states to use the special tool to push the tensioner pin...
A quick breakdown
GSX (2-piston) caliper + GSX Bracket + GSX pads + stock rotor
= Doesn't work, gsx pads hang about 1/4 inch off the end of the rotor.
= Does fit inside stock 16" 5star wheelsGSX caliper + GSX bracket + GSX rotor + GSX pads
= Works perfectly in stock 16"s
= Must bend back or...
Looks a lot better but u should know 133 is the service limit (rebuild) try pouring a dab of oil into that cylinder and if see if the reading jumps if it does your rings are probably bad depends on you though. another thread to explain it better...
Wow those readings suck check the forum i showed you. Guy selling complete block 100 dollars unsure of the condition but its definitely a start tell him smokestack referred you.If money isn't an issue check this out Eclipse 4g63 longblock located in Gloucester va
Blew my t25 2 days ago, Its blew huge clouds of smoke from the turbo seals being bad then it started to sound like a supercharger (whining) heres another thread to check out http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turbo-system-tech/442230-only-my-turbo-thats-blown.html
Definitely get a compression tester and get them to pull the codes for you. Also check this out http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/336535-do-you-have-blown-head-gasket.html
The only other direct fit turbo is a t-28. Which needs to have an upgraded fuel system to even get into its peak effeciency range if not 12psi would suffice. But, before u decide to swap turbos have u tried doing the free mods this site has to offer and upgrade ## bolt ons. Even the t-25 can be...
I believe theirs definitaly more than meets the eye with this. Who knows whats wrong with it really, thats a whole lot of money sunk into in too be selling for so cheap and not just part out. :hmm: But if your looking for another project then i would go for it but id offer less and see what he...
The t-25 doesn't have the size to get u anywhere near 400whp. If i was u i would make sure my maintenance was up to date and look into a good clutch and flywheel combo. That kinda power is hard on the drivetrain. Next, i would look into getting link and a data logger plus wide band. As for the...
oh okay, I just figured after I swapped the tires and went for that initial test drive to check, the car would still drive wrong due to the misdirection of the tires but i get it.
Okay ill try the tire swap and bearing check. Also, and forgive me if im wrong, i don't have expertise in the alignment aspect but if i put an opposite direction tire on the other side would it affect my test anyhow seeing as the tread pattern would be going against the back tires pattern?
Tire pressure are 32 all around. Yeah i suspect those are the cause, would they also make the car shake at only those speeds?Left to right? They are directional tires i thought they were front to back?
For the past week my 95 talon awd has been pulling hard to the right. If i let go of the wheel id probably crash lol. It has started to cause the car to shake when highway cruising 60 or more only then though. I've replaced the calipers, pads, and rotors. Checked the tie rod ends and ball joints...
I personally like them i currently have the h1 8000k kit in my 2ga haven't had a problem except for on one side getting wet. After awhile it would blink then one day it went out but for 30 on eBay u cant beat that. By the way i have the projector housings, don't think the stock housings will...
Road Race Engineering makes a 2g install kit for the 14b and 16gs. Their about $325 for a full kit or $200 for a hacker kit.Road Race Engineering's 2G 16-G Turbo Install Kits and PartsAs for rest i would go with at least 550cc or higher with a 255lph rewired, depends on ## power goals though
Pretty sure the gsx exhaust is the same as the tsi both have to be awd though. As far as a combo package make sure they have the same diameter as each other.
Today i tried installing my autometer ultra lite air fuel gauge. I grounded the black wire and connected the red one to the battery. All that's left is the purple signal wire which i read is suppose to connect to the white wire on the oxygen sensor harness. When i did this a red square appeared...
Must agree in sum way modding a 210k 7bolt bottom end is pretty far out there but if u decide that's what u wanna do i would suggest rebuilding the bottom end first. So all that time and money is not wasted just to have something go wrong = crank walk.
Don`t quote me but i believe i recall that in a dark garage u can see the bad wires arching very clearly. Plus, new plugs and wires aren`t that expensive so why not replace.
Make sure u do a good review of the car so no sudden problems occur. Also make sure the maintenance was kept up to date, 60k means timing belt replacement. If all this is good then yeah i believe its a good deal.
