1G Which bolts do I need for a Hyundai Valve Cover on my 1g dsm?

I just got done rebuilding my engine, and my valve cover is now leaking. I bought a Hyundai valve cover (to replace mine that is leaking) that im told has no cracks, no leaking anything. It seems to be the exact same as my original valve cover, but it just sits higher. I got some (or maybe all) of the bolts from the person I bought the valve cover from, but I need to know exactly what size bolts I need, and how many of them so I know if I need to buy anything before I put it on. The last thing I want is to get my valve cover off, and find out im missing sometihng because this is my only car and I will have no way to get to an auto parts store to get what I need. Ive gone through a complete rebuild with this car like 3 times, and keep running into 1 problem after another. This has recently become my daily driver because my Maxima was totaled by an uninsured motorist last week, so I need to get this car running good soon. Thanks alot guys

bolt hole pattern line up for starters? Doesn't yours extend down far enough? Take one to Home Depot and hit the bolt bin to find your size ... prob a 10mm with a 1.5mm thread pitch.

You need the hyndai bolts or studs and stud seals and nuts (if it is studs).

The Hyundai valve covers use a collared stud with a nut on top.

I went to my auto parts store and threw together a set of 8 grade bolts to use and made rubber washers out of rubber fuel line and it sealed perfect and looks great.Thanks for the help y'all,there isnt a drip of oil to speak of as of yet.

I know this is about 2 months old, but im also interested in what you picked up from the store to make this work?
Got a Hyundia VC coming in, not know at the time about the different bolts. Would like to put it on asap without spending the extra $40 for Hyundai OEM bolts!

I've got a set of the oem studs, pm me if you are interested.

I had studs and I hated it. To take the vc off you either have to take the studs out or the cam gears. I went with normal bolts.

M6x1.0 40mm long on the outside.

Do you think I could get away with m6x20mm & m6x35mm?
I have a bunch of nice polished stainless steel bolt in these sizes laying around.
Not sure how crucial that 5mm is though!

It's pretty important, since the threads strip easy. The 35mm ones will only go in a few threads

Is this because its for the OEM VC and not a Hyundai VC?

I was wrong on the 20mm ones. They will work. The 35's are the ones that'll be short.

Here's 35mm and 40mm. You can use the 35mm ones but I would highly highly recommend not to.
