Ok, I do see that there are a couple of these already started. I bought the car with a 14b turbo which is working great. I am going to a big 16g, should I add an oil restrictor. Even if I needed to add an oil restrictor how should I know what size fittings I should order? PS I think it's an aftermarket SS oil feed line. Is there just a standard size that fits into the 14b and 16g? I was just going to take a guess and order a -4an .065. Let me know what I should get

No, you don't need an oil restrictor for a 16g.

if you feed from the OFH and have a BSE done you should have an oil restrictor just to be safe feeding from the OFH with a 16g can be better if you really push you car as stated by jusmx141 in a private message as the 16g in its higher rpm's when fed from the head can not have a significant amount of oil.

if you want a oil restrictor you will need a .075" for the 16g i currently am feeding from my OFH without a restrictor to my s16g turbo with no problems but will be doing BSE so will be putting 1 on.

What about the -an size and thread size? I will buy one as soon as I can figure that out.

I've been running my 16g from the OFH with a BSE for thousands of miles. No restrictor, just a 4an SS line with adapter. 100psi cold starts an not a single drop of oil in either side. If your feeding from the head, you absolutely do not need a restrictor. It's a waste if time and money.

Here are some facts.

- OEM 14B feed line from the head has a .075" restrictor built into the banjo end at the turbo.

- OEM T25 feed line fitting from the filter housing has the same size restrictor built into it as well.

- Factory oiling requirements for a 16G turbo are 42-48psi MAX at the inlet.

- You can't choose a restrictor until you've first taken accurate oil pressure readings.

If you vary from the factory oiling spec in any way (too low or too high), you're putting the turbo at risk for a premature failure. Doesn't matter what others have done successfully....what works for some will absolutely not work for everyone.
