Well i bit the bullet,

After being sober from the dsm world for about 7 years now i found a car close to home and picked it up. has tons of potential.

SPECS
1992 Eagle Talon TSI AWD
122K miles
Fully loaded. Leather, power, sunroof, ABS.
Only option not included was auto transmission.
Second owner.
Non-smoker.

Engine info:
Estimated mileage: 30,000

Complete 6bolt engine rebuild consisting of:
-Head rebuilt and valve job done by machine shop.
-Block cleaned, bored and checked by machine shop.
-Crank checked and bearing surfaces polished.
-This engine wasn't just "freshened" up.
-Block bored +.020"
-2G +.020" pistons mated to stock 1G rods (stronger and higher compression 8.5:1 vs. 8:1)
-ARP head studs
-ARP rod bolts
-ARP crank bolts.
-Stock size Clevite main and rod bearings
-Balance shafts eliminated
-3G lifters (no tick)
-New timing belt and all associated pulleys and tensioner
-New water pump

Fuel system:
-ND 150lph 195130-0990 fuel pump upgrade. Rewired for full voltage.
-B&M fuel pressure modifier.
-B&M Fuel pressure gauge mounted on filter.

Intake:
-Hacked aircan
-K&N filter.
-Lower honeycomb removed from MAS. (I have a spare hacked wide open I can include)
-3" ABS intake from MAS to turbo. (Home Depot style)
-Steel upper IC pipe. Stock 1G BOV, uncrushed.
-2G intake elbow.
-Oversize turbo outlet pipe.
-Manual Boost controller

Exhaust:
-Ported 2G exhaust manifold
-Ported "Small" 16G Turbo - replaced bearings and seals but still leaks some oil. Spools great though.
-Ported 2G O2 housing
-2.5" SS downpipe and flex.
-2.5" test pipe.
-2.5" Buscheur racing catback.

DriveTrain info:
-5-speed manual professionally rebuilt to stage 1.5 specs by TeamRip Engineering. Details can be found at WELCOME TO TRE## WE SPECIALIZE IN MANUAL TRANSMISSION REPAIR
Castrol Syntec synthetic gear lube used. Estimated milage: 25,000
-Centerforce clutch (1st generation style) - makes a nice rattle and probably should be replaced with an ACT. Holds strong though.
-Clutch master and slave cylinder replaced.
-Drive shaft carrier bearings replaced.
-4-bolt LSD Rear axle reshimmed to specs.
-Transfer case replaced (no leaks) (have a spare unit I could throw in)
-Front CV joints cleaned, regreased and boots replaced.
-2G shift knob.
-Solid mount shifter.

Brakes:
-Front brake calipers replaced with rebuilt units and new pads. Driver's side caliper is brand new with new pads.
-Rear calipers are brand new with new pads.

Electrics:
-O2 sensor replaced
-Knock sensor replaced
-Socketed EEPROM ECU. Capacitors changed out.
EEPROM currently flashed with no fuelcut, phantom knock mod. Never got around to doing custom fuel/timing maps.
I have everything needed to flash the EEPROM.
-20PSI boost gauge.
-Westach EGT gauge. Needs new probe.
-Interface for Datalogger that can be used with laptop or Palm Pilot.

Water injection:
-High pressure Shurflo pump, McMaster-Carr nozzle, adjustable pressure solenoid, indicator LED, etc.

Misc:
-Remote door locks added.
-A/C converted to R-134a. All seals replaced and full flush was done. Think the compressor seals leak though so have to refill it every summer.
-Factory service manuals, plus lots of other literature I have collected over the years.
-All spare parts are included.

Exterior:
-Paint is marginal/checked. Hood is worst.
-2 small rust bubbles at both front fender lips.
-Body has never been repainted/wrecked so no bondo.
-Exterior is otherwise completely stock (I was going for the "sleeper" look)

Wheels:
-Stock /w 205/55-16 Sumitomo HTR Z-rated.

Audio:
-Stock head unit.
-Alpine amp.
-Boston Acoustics component speakers. Mids in door, tweeters mounted on A-pillar.

i have a set of 650cc injectors and a set of new HKS 272/264 cams to put in it as well. i plan on painting the car black and using it as a :tease:daily driver for the time being

wow, its rare to see dsms in taht shape and esspecially in that color without the "porno red" interior LOL. very nice buy, hope the project goes well.
 
so here in south dakota we are under i blizzard warning so i have some time to look for mods for my car, here is what i have come up with any suggestions would be great

FMIC from extreme turbo systems or through godspeed. 27x7x3.5" bar
not sure what else to get wideband,MAFT,or DSMlink... any help???
 
i am thinking about doing a DsmLInk V3 with the GM MAS Cable and a 3in MAS with the 650cc injectors and 272/264 hks cams i already have. and maybe a eugo wideband.

im new to the tuning worlf and not very good with it. i am know more about the mechanical aspect of cars then the tuning. with this set up be hard to tune? install looks very easy
 
That is a nice looking car. To start with you need to either get a new eprom chip burned or another way to tune (I am not recommending link) but you need to lower the timing alittle for the higher compression pistons. And you should look into getting a differnt fuel pressure regulator.

do i need to change them??
 
i would deffiantly suggest a wideband if u plan on any tuning what so ever. Its kinda hard to do it off of the stock o2. u can only get it about right with that and not full potential. But if u go without a wide band deffiantly tune for no knock. then go from there.
 
i for sure plan on painting it. have not decided if im going to stick with the color it is or go black. leaning towards black tho..

UPDATE
during the test drive right after a boost pull the car began running rough an had little power our first thought was a boost leak of some sort. but after a few hours of looking and a leak down test this is what we found:rolleyes:

So we ordered a hg. having the local machine shop check the head and check the block and do any machining needed. we got the hg in thursday so hope to have the car running next weekend. :aha:also a good time to throw the HKS 272/264 cams in :hellyeah:
