I think I got ripped off on a rebuilt 7 bolt 4g63.

I bought a rebuilt 7 bolt 4g63 for 800 dollars. I realized there are no oil squirters on this motor! I'm thinking that its a non turbo 4g63. They told me it was the turbo model. Is there any way I can tell?

Also since I already have it installed in my car now, how long would it last if it a non turbo with a turbo on it?

not all 7 bolts have 6 bolt style oil squirts.

here are 7 bolt oil squirts.

All turbo 1G engines have the same style oil squirters. Those that are pictured in post #3 are 2G oil squirters and quite different from 1G 7-bolt engines.

The crank and rods would be the same, the only difference would be the pistons as far as those components go.

OP, you can check the VIN on the block.

If it doesnt have the oil squirters as shown in the picture above, it is an NT 1G 7bolt block, however, if it was built with turbo pistons, the pistons will have a T on the top.

The rods on the 1G 7 bolt are the same regardless of turbo or non, so if your pistons have the T on top, you're good. If they are NT pistons, I would not put the motor together, as the ring lands on the NT pistons are weak and will break under detonation.

If they are turbo pistons, you'll have to ask someone how to identify whether they are 2G 8.5:1, or the 1G 7.8:1 pistons, as I am unfamiliar with the 2G pistons...

I can't really see the top of the piston but the bottom of the piston has a whole bunch of squares (cross-hatched lines) on them. I don't know if that means anything or not.

My VIN on the block is RD2232

Where is that oil squirter located in post #3?

Also, what website should i go to to put in the block ID numbers once I find them?

Some RVR 2G 7 bolt engine's did not come with oil squirter's either, just something to keep in mind

thats a lot for that motor. unless it has no miles on the rebuild, and then its still kind of a lot IMo.
