Greetings everyone from the wonderful DSMtuner Community! I have been blessed with the ability to dive back into the DSM/VR4 Syndicate :p . I will include all the good stuff in my ride post regarding the 92 VR4...that is once I get the old-grey lady running right and cleaned up. Which leads me to my much needed aid in getting this beast setup correctly.
20g Turbo
3" MAF and MAF Translator
HKS Electric Valve Controller
HKS External Wastegate
660cc Injectors with FPR
Greddy Blow-off valve mounted on top of FMIC
and much more...
As the following pictures show my issue is wanting to make sure that the entire Turbo system is set up correctly with the vacuum lines. The complexity of the T's is whats baffling me and I just want to be safe rather than sorry before I start to dabble in tuning the beast. In consulting the EVC Installation Instructions it would be wonderful if one could confirm if the 3 ports are connected correctly.

Port #1-Is T'd to connect to gauge, Intake Manifold, and FPR...it says do not connect to this port but thats what the previous owner who installed everything has done-although I dont have the supplemental instructions regarding not connecting to FPR.

Port #2-Is T'd to connect to lower nipple of Blow-off valve, lower Wastegate nipple, and Throttle-body elbow.

Port #3-Is T'd to connect to higher nipple of Blow-off valve, and Top of Wastegate.

Cannot thank you enough for your time and sorry for the length of the post...just trying to be as thorough as possible.

Drawing a simple schematic might be more helpful. I am having a hard time following this routing

Ok let me try this again now that i am thinking a little clearer.

Port 1 - this is fine, leave it alone

Port 2 - This sounds like your boost source. Ideally it would be coming right off the turbo not the TB elbow, but ok for now.

Port 3 - This seems all sorts of odd. your upper wastegate line should be t'd off of the lower wastegate line with a boost controller in it. Not really sure why it would be connected to the BOV at all. The top BOV line should have a dedicated line to the intake manifold after throttle body. Crude but i believe it is accurate:

LOL...truly brilliant :p I believe my attempt isn't much better but hopefully aids in showing the issue. As the diagram shows it seems this is what HKS is after, but sadly I have no control over boost-(I let off prior to 24 psi :/ )doesn't change regardless of low, high, or manual switch with volume on the EVC in the car :(
Prior to hooking up the top of the wastegate I was able to atleast control the boost pressure but had terrible chattering coming from the bov. I am in a pickle. Thank you once again for your time and aid.

Your boost control is going tp be based on the pressure difference between the top and bottom of your wastegate.
Is whatever that box (i assume boost controller) at the bottom of your diagram hooked up right?

The top provision is to add positive pressure to the top of the wastegate diaphragm. It aids the wastegate spring/s by adding more pressure to help keep it shut during high boost applications...
It is up to you, but a 16g should not be "overpowering" an external wastegate with the top port vented to atmosphere...
To control the external with the top port seeing boost, the more boost the top port sees the more boost you will generate... In contrast if you were to vent the top port, the wastegate will function off of spring pressure alone...

That supra diagram is the same as the way I have mine setup & it works very well. I call it a "push me, pull you" & it is the most accurate way to get boost to not over or under shoot & have no BOV flutter or leaks because you can't find the BOV spring sweet spot. Also, wastegate & BOV respond almost instantaneously. To do this you need to use a 3 port BCS so the OEM solenoid won't work.

Thank you everyone for your reply...but given my schematic I don't understand how I lost my control of the boost controller-wants to run the external wastegate spring rate of 24+ psi :/ . Also the diagram of the supra system looks as if it has just 2 lines out of bcs rather than the hks I have with 3 lines. Thank you again

Double clutch it sure doesn't seem to be hooked up right due to the inability to even set the boost level...is it possible to leave the top external wastegate open and maybe the top of the bov as well? Shooting in the dark :(

Hook the top of the BOV to the intake manifold.

Yes, running the wastegate with no hookup on the top will just keep you boost levels low(er)
 
With a 24# wastegate spring your lowest boost will be spring pressure or 24#. You need a spring with lower pressure to run lower boost. Any boost controller can only raise boost above spring pressure, not lower. The 3rd port on a 3 port BCS is the bleed off or breather port & many time have a filter of some sort instead of a nipple for a hose. This may be the case for the HKS & hence why they only have 2 lines are drawn. Three port configured Electronic Boost Controller like this work different that you'd expect if you're familiar with 2 port and or manuals. With these one hose is "boost" the other is not. The controller works by changing the duty cycle rate or how long the solenoid is opened to closed per each cycle (or frequency). Making the solenoid open more than its closed increases the pressure on the line which should be connected to the normally "extra" wastegate top port. As the solenoid transfers more boost into this line it adds extra pressure to the spring pressure & viola higher boost. This is with a normally closed solenoid. Things are inside out with normally open solenoids.

Everything else is buttoned up and lines are in order...all 3 ports are correct in leaving the top nipple on the wastegate vented with proper control via bcs. Now to delve into tuning with a MAF Translator :p-going with dsm link within the month. Thank you again!
