Resolved 4G64 Hybrid Coolant Plug/Turbo water line

I've been searching through the forums and my service manual for a few hours now. I'm running a 4G63 Head on a 2.4 DOHC 4g64 block (94 Galant GS) I removed the plug from my 4g64 block and when I moved the 4g63 banjo bolt setup over I found that the plug in the 4g64 is much larger than the 4g63. I also found that its much larger than anything Lowes and Home Depot carries. Can anyone tell me what the 4g64 DOHC coolant plug thread size is?

I would call any vendor here who builds engines there are quite a few to pick one, that would be my first thing on my list to figure out the part you need.
 
The plug in the early Galant 4G64 ('94 models) is listed as a 1/2" tapered plug. Because all the other plugs in these blocks tend to be BSPT, I would assume that one is, too. That makes it a little smaller in diameter than a M22 bolt. Later model E56A Galants had the regular 3/8" BSPT tapped hole and plug, just like the DSM 4G63 and 4G64.

Anyhow, if that is what it is, you'll need to find or make some fancy adapter to run the turbo coolant feed from the block. If you plan to use original equipment like the banjo bolt, something like a 1/2" BSPT male to M14x1.5 female adapter would be nice. Chances are you won't find one easily in the states.

Thanks so much for the explanation! I broke down and called a Mitsubishi dealership and this info confirms the 2 sizes, but explained the setup much better.

I picked up a 90* 1/2 NPT to 3/8 NPT and was going to thread on a straight 3/8 NPT with barbed hose connector on except the 90* hits the block when I try to thread it in :ohdamn:

I'll figure out a similar solution or switch to AN fittings, wish they were a little cheaper LOL
