Just an intro about myself to help get past that "probationary member" stage.
.
This is my first DSM and first AWD car. A good friend sold me the car, extra motor, and parts for a really good price and decided to jump on the project. I've dabbled with a turbo'ed 01 Toyota MR2 for about a year and miss the boost!
I'm currently rebuilding the spare engine (came from a 96 Eclipse GSX-T) with Evo 8 pistons & rods, balance shaft removal, and a complete head rebuild/valve job. I'm going through a local shop (Wholesale Automotive Machine, Inc.) with the rebuild and they've done a really great job with price-matching parts from competitive online stores. I should be getting the engine back either tonight or Monday. Its been in the shop for about a week now.
The goal with the car is for it to be a daily driver with extra pep, so no ridiculous HP will be expected. If anything, I would like to rebuild the original motor and use it in another project, but that's just getting ahead of myself.
That's enough for this DSM noob. See you all around the forum.
