From JDM to DSM -- My new girl ;)

Whats up guys.. Finally got my hands on a DSM.. Been looking all summer

My name is Matholomus (half of you probably pronounced it wrong! !) I live in Oklahoma, but originally from Indiana.

Traded straight across for it.. why and how you ask..? long (but fortunate) story

Had a '93 Honda Prelude H22a VTEC w/ basic mods: I/H/E blah blah.. (check my 'about me') Im definitely going to miss her tho

First time hitting boost was ABSOLUTELY amazing, she through me back in the seat! at first i was like WTF then then then while driving home i was like .. The feeling was, idk how to explain it.. reminded me when i first experienced VTEC---- Boost>Sex

ANYWAYS!! On to the PICS!!!!!

Girl owned '91 AWD 5 speed Talon TSi

Firstly the mods:

fidanza flywheel
act 2100 clutch
Greddy type rs bov
walbro 255 fp
Aftermarket fpr
big 16g turbo
3in ss exhaust
drill and slotted front rotors
stock 450cc
new tires all around
New battery w/ warranty
New coolant temp sensor w/ warranty
New lower control arm on passenger side

Engine:

Rebuilt- she says it has around 4k on it
Pistons
Rings
Bearings
Rods
block is honed


The bad:

not tuned
when under boost the car cuts out (not fuel cut out) around 5500 rpm -- thinking its a boost leak
Driver side door doesnt unlock -- have to unlock it from the passenger side
Needs new strut
Has boost gauge, but needs hooked up
Driver seat has a few tears but other than that, the interior is mint
needs lowered

Just ordered NGK spark plugs and wires the other day, should be here tomorrow

Im going to change the timing belt, water pump, etc etc.. im going to do regular maintenance for the next few weeks just for peace of mind.

Good job, glad you got rid of the POS honDUH... ( at the "first time i felt Vtec" comment.) Vtec sucks ass enjoy that gorgeous 1g, I'm going to get a 92 TSI one of these days boost is an awesome thing, just wait until you upgrade that turbo to a beast and think your 16g is as weak as your vtec was.. then you will be doing the WTF all over again, and know what true torque is.

Yea one of my dsm buddies said that he might have a couple 2g mafs laying around in his shop, hopefully ill get my hands on one soon!

boost is lovely! i try to not get into it most of the time, but i cant help not wanting to get pulled in my seat then hearing the bov... !

but i have a lot o reading and understanding to do on the dsm i.e. turbo's, how they work, etc etc.. my friend told me about vfaq, so ima spend my free time getting to know this new plat form.. from the lude, the dsm is a whole nother ball game..

you know, actually i dont really think about it as much as i thought i would. Yes, i miss it.. a lot.. but not as much as i thought. i took plenty of pictures of her over the years, so i have things to look at when im feeling "down"

Yes lowered is in order man, gotta ditch that monster truck ride height! Welcome to the team. Honda's are amazing car's, love how you can rev the crap outta them and they just take it with a smile, but they definitely lack the turbo power.

In the DSM world the fact that you had a Honda is a lot like if you had VD, it's best kept to yourself unless you still have it.

And even then you don't want it to be public knowledge.

bahahahaha!!!! thats too funny... also, i kinda look down on my buddies hondas now.. i feel as if im far superior than they are (car wise) i have more of a "confidence" about my self haha

Awesome trade man. Diggin that black(ish) hood look . I actually got my first dsm about 6 months ago, a 91 eagle talon fwd auto nonturbo w/106k miles, bottom of the barrel far as 4g63s go haha. At least I got the right engine. That black hood has me thinking tho.... black hood, black headlight covers, slap a tofu delivery decal on the right side in Japanese.... worlds first initial D dsm! But seriously good luck and happy racing. I'm looking forward to putting some pep in my dsm's step like u man!
