photo What's up (Build Pics)

Hey guys,

Figured it's about time to stop being a complete lurker and atleast introduce my self. My name is Toby, I have been registered on the site for awhile but don't post a whole lot, mostly just look up info/browse stuff. Thought it'd be nice to maybe get to know some new people and see if there are any locals.

I'm from Chambersburg, Pa and have 91 Talon TSi that has been under the knife for probably most the time I have had the car (pain in the ass/jinxed) lol. Found the car a few hours away and traded my ek hatch for it. The car wasn't perfect but had a handful of stuff done to it. Old setup: pretty much stock block ( 1g rods, 2g pistons, acl bearings), built head by slowboy racing (bigger valves, ported, bc 272 cams etc), magnus intake manifold, dnp manifold, tial 44mm wastegate, mitsu flanged precision sc6176sp ported turbo .70a/r compressor housing, .63 exhaust, ets race intercooler, tial 50mm bov, 3" exhaust, 650cc injectors, walbro 255 pump, etc. The trans was junk when I got the car, but he gave me a built tre transmission with it, I just needed the correct transfer case because the trans was a 2g trans. Really wasn't a bad deal.

Well to make a long story short, I have had a hell of a time with it after I got it (after I replaced the trans). Didn't notice when I was checking out the car that the trans was only held on with one bolt, turbo went on me, never ran right etc. So I only got to enjoy the car for a week or two, if that (of the last 8 months or so). Anyways, after the turbo went I knew it was time build the car the right way. So now here is how it looks: same motor (just don't have the money right now for a fully built motor, but it will come so bare with me), same intake manifold, intercooler, bov, wastegate etc. New: precision 6262 dbb .82 a/r exhaust v-band t3, older style dnp t3 manifold (need a wastegate adapter), v-band downpipe, aem wideband, moroso kill switch etc. Soon to come: pte 1200cc injectors, buschur double pumper, dsmlink, aem rail, stainless lines, and afpr. Already garaged for the winter and don't mind letting sit for awhile (why not, already has lol). Plus it is a little tight with money right now since just quit my job, school, newborn etc. Should be ready to go for the spring. Well enough talking here are some pics:

Old Setup:

(Know I need a filter for the oil feed)

Downpipe will need modified

My other Girl:

She can't wait for her first ride and everything... lol

Not trying to set a lot of goals at this point. I have an idea of what I want out of it but more so I just wanted the car to be done right and also wanted to have the right stuff to make good power for a built motor in the future. Will have to do for now. Getting some stock 1gb swirly wheels soon and probably another stock bumper. Going to go with the sleeper look. 10pt cage is in the future as well. Anyways, let me know what you think and hope to maybe get to know some of you guys.

Thanks for looking and have a good one.

Thanks, yeah I've been debating throwing a stock one back on. I probably will in the near future if I can find one.

To be honest, I never had the car quite running right with the old setup so don't take it set it stone, but from what I can remember it spooled probably around 4k- 4,300 rpms, but when it started to spool it seemed to hold boost well up until redline and pulled strong. Exhaust side was a .63a/r mitsu fivebolt. Hope that gives you a little of an idea.

Lol yeah, I need to hide that lol. Yeah that'd be cool, I'll have to give you a shout come spring time. Should be together and in a semi-reliable state (hopefully) lol. It'd be nice to meet some more dsm guys and cruise around a little.

Can not drive it in the winter..please it is just more fun in the winter. I live in NH and there is never a better time then snowy parking lots at midnight. I have not had my GSX in the winter yet but my buddies td05 3000gt VR4 was fun, and same with a couple of S4's I've driven in the snow. But I guess some people would rather keep all the dirt and salt off the car from the winter, which I can totally agree with.

Thanks guys, I think I'd be a little paranoid to do something like that. I'd be worried snow or something would end up getting thrown through my open downpipe and into my exhaust side blades lol.

You mean the exhaust manifold? It is an older style dnp t3 flanged manifold.
