come across a 93 eagle talon TSI AWD. has a chipped exhaust valve, but no damage to shortblock.

i bought it disassembled, and im new to dsm.... starting to think ooooohhhh shit.......

it needs some work but im willing to learn...

im thinking of just getting a stock valve and a valve job. maybe clean up the ports of the head. i was told it has cams, but i have no clue what kind or anything. the guy sold the turbo so i need one, i was thinking new, small upgrade.

has some mods, but i dont know what it has exactly.

Yes you should get the head rebuilt. Having a nice fresh head to start with will be nice. Make sure the bottom end is in good shape tho before you start. I would drop the pan and check for metal in the sump, also look for loose rod bearings. While you here it might be a good time to do a balance shaft elimination. From the top of the motor I would check that the cylinder walls were nice and free of scratches or gouges.

As for your turbo, I would probably try to pick up a used 14b. They are cheap and plentiful, and stock. Once you get the feel for these cars then you can upgrade.

Now go figure out what mods you have and how many miles are on the car. Lots of questions you will have can be found here VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions
